when I got it the sound quality wasn't as great as I expected to be. Maybe its just me for my expectations are pretty high

Exactly as it was described

I did receive this for a review but no hyperbole or BS here.This bluetooth speaker is perfect for the beach or at the campsite. It pairs up and connects quickly and easily. Its volume will go louder than what your device's maximum volume will reach, In my case, I was using it with an iPod.The speaker is heavily coated with a thick rubber sheath which will repel any water drops from it and protect it from the salt air at the beach. Even the tab that covers the charging input port is of the same rubber. That said, I would not drop it in a pool as I doubt that this port would be protected from water seepage for long and certainly if it was not fully closed,When charging, there is an extremely tiny diode light that shows that it is on charge. However, the light is so minuscule that you really have to turn the speaker where the light is and try hard to even see it.As for the audio quality, and the reason why I gave it only 3 stars, the speaker produces mostly mid range. There is very little bass reproduction and, especially if you turn the volume up to its loudest coupled with your device's highest volume, high end distortion was plainly evident. Distortion, not volume, is what will destroy any speaker so you will definitely want to back off the volume to avoid this. There will be plenty of volume left, not to worry.There are 2 drivers on each end of the speaker so standing up in a vertical manner would certainly muffle one of the drivers. Therefore, you must lay it flat in the horizontal position to get the maximum performance from this Bluetooth speaker.Because the speaker is round, you can expect it to roll around on a table when inadvertently touched. Despite the 2 end speakers, there is almost no stereo imaging and my guess is that this might be a true mono speaker just using 2 drivers.As I said, there is almost no bottom end and a trebly high end. I tend to be a bit demanding of my listening sources and so prefer a much better audio reproduction but this speaker is not meant for critical listening. It is meant for the beach, patio, hiking and background music and it does that just fine.It does come with a carabiner to hook onto your back pack and charging cable and it will hold its charge for a good amount of time, most of the day.Hope this review has been of some help.Thanks for reading

My son and I have been using this Bluetooth speaker for a couple weeks now and find this is a decent portable Bluetooth speaker with one glaring flaw. Before I get too far into the review, I should disclose the fact that I was offered a free or discounted sample product for testing and review. If you like a bit of bass punch in your music you'll be disappointed. There is little to no bass with this thing and I know other portable speakers with similar size drivers do manage better bass response. Aside from the lack of bass I don't have many major complaints.PROS:+ Dust and shock resistant+ Water RESISTANT. This speaker is resistant to moisture from splashing, sweat, light rain etc. but I definitely would not consider it waterproof. If you drop this in the lake, pool etc (especially while on) it'll fry in short order.+ Attractive design+ Easy to pair and use+ Great audio volume levels. Can hear it well and adequate volume while biking, hiking etc.+ Comes with a bike mount, cheap carabiner style clip and charging and audio cable+ Audio cable allows you to use this hardwired without Bluetooth+ Can be carried or mounted very easily+ Good battery lifeCONS:- Horrible bass response. This thing just doesn't have much bass out of the box. That's a shame because just a little punch could make this a 5 star product.- VERY cheap cardboard packaging makes the product seem cheaper than it is. The cheap packaging makes this a little less attractive for gift giving.- The silicone outer rubber case is a bit slipperyCONCLUSION:If you want a rugged, water resistant portable Bluetooth speaker for outdoor use and you don't need adequate bass, this is a good choice. At under $30 this is a decent quality built product suitable for use in the garage, camping, hiking, fishing, biking and more.

Good volume and decent sound quality for the price. The bluetooth feature is very nice.

This is a nice little compact and portable bluetooth speaker. It puts out a lot more sound than I expected with good low end too. I like the rubberized texture on the outside that keeps it in good shape. You can wipe it off with a moist towel it is cleans up well. It is easy to charge and pair. It runs almost all day on a charge. There really isn't anything that I don't like about it. 5 stars for a good quality speaker.
