These hinges solved the problem in minutes. The hinges almost install themselves, no guesswork. They are designed to slide onto the gutter so the hinges stay in place and they hold the gutter pieces in place as you fasten them making installation really easy, . Two suggestions: Work the hinges a little to loosen the connection before installing them. Also, because of the design, once installed, there is a gap left at the connection (to allow the hinge to fold up) in which leaves could accumulate. I just just removed the bottom of a piece (6 inches) of gutter (made an upside down U) and snapped it over the hinge. (I did five total on my home.)However, I have one BIG suggestion to other customers who might be puzzled the way I was. When you take the hinges out of the package and first attempt to move them they don't!!! They're completely "stiff". I struggled with the first one and after 10 minutes it occurred to me that a drop or two of hinge oil might do the trick. And it did. So a word of advice; have some hinge oil handy to loosen them up. I don't know why this simple suggestion isn't included in the instructions. But this is the only quibble that I have.
