Review: It's worth having - I bought this for my Mechanical Engineering Design class in my junior year of undergrad. I have to say, out of all the textbooks that I have needed, I would say this one is actually worth buying. The book is well written and the examples are good. I was lucky enough to have a professor who is extremely knowledgeable on the material so that helped a lot as well. I bought it brand new, when the price was down to $115. Despite it being the middle of the semester when I bought it, I figured that this would be useful beyond the class. I have yet to determine that, so I may have to update this review in the future.

I wanted to leave (and update) this review to list any typo that I've found in Shigleys Mechanical Engineering Design 10 edition. In example 7-1 on page 363, the solution mentions Table 6-6 to find the reliability endurance modifier; it is supposed to be Table 6-5.

I bought this for my Mechanical Engineering Design class in my junior year of undergrad. I have to say, out of all the textbooks that I have needed, I would say this one is actually worth buying. The bible of mechanical engineering. This book covers a huge range of topics which will be useful to everyone from mechanical engineering students to engineering professionals. It doesn't have as many examples as some other engineering design books, but it makes up for this in its quality of content. A few of the mechanical engineers that I work with carry this book on their shelves to use as reference. Would recommend to anyone who wants a great reference.
