We also had a couple of songs where the vocal director changed the key using a software that gave me 7 sharps. Rewrote those lines to be easier to read. I also used it to re-write some sections down an octave. I could have just played them down, but using the tape was so easy to do that it was worth it to reduce the amount of concentration I needed, especially towards the end of playing a 2 1/2 musical. This is a common issue that occurs in the music industry. I had a director that always marked up his copy of the score to fix all of the mistakes in his book. The issue with that is it looked too confusing for the new director when he came and to take his predecessor's place.
