[Korea Kayagum Palm Horses] Born in 1936, Huan Bionggi is a Korean traditional musical instrument. Its famous craft is not only academic place but also has gained a wide popularity in Korea. As a traditional instrument player, he has never been challenged again and again in the Avantgarde modern song, his work was so awesome that the rumulation of "hearing the person dies". It features a more stable bass than Japanese kotobu, so the sound of the Kyagumu will feel its weight in a single sound. The subtle sound of the shermanic drum and cane (chango) is as if it is comparison to it. This work is a traditional piece of work, but it contrasts with a feeling of demeanism and the calmness of the spirit flowing underneath.

Awesome!
If you are a fan of Asian music, as I am, then I have a hard time imagining that you would be disappointed with this purchase. The music is great, to say the least. There is a track or two where the performer is playing in all or mostly harmonics. Very nice sound from a very skilled musician. I play instruments similar to what he is playing, and it certainly takes a lot of accuracy to pull that off, and I can very much appreciate his skill level and expertise. Very different style than Chinese Guzheng and Japanese Koto music... I look forward to buying more Korean music. Awesome stuff! Buy and enjoy!

Great Music (for any true music-lover) !!
If you are a true music lover, even if you are not acquainted with the music of the Far-East, you will enjoy this CD !! This is "deep",even "intellectual" music, for the thinker or the one who wants to meditate or relax. -- Say "Bach in the Far East" ...This music may resemble what you may have heard coming from Japan or China (in semi-similar instruments) but in reality, different (more serious and going deep into the soul/mind). You will play it, again and again !!

Surprising Beauty
With a tonal range close to that of the Japanese Koto but far more lustrous in that it's slightly lower in pitch (think Sitar and Sarod), this is the perfect sound for those who wish to relax and let the music sweep you away. After a single listening, you will find that the rhythms are not all that "exotic" and instead are quite pleasing. And for something a bit modern in flavor, you might also like to try Water Garden Enjoy.

A very beautiful mixture of traditional and modern gayageum sanjo and melodies
A very beautiful mixture of traditional and modern gayageum sanjo and melodies. Hwang is one of the foremost players in Korea and his skill and mastery is evident. Some highlights include his duets with voice such as Chucheonsa (Swinging Song) which is very delectable to listen to. A very good introduction to gayageum making you want more.
