Ragnarok... not necessarily the end of all things... maybe just a change...?
Wow! An epic story to tie up the series with quite the unexpected ending! (Sorry, NO spoilers here!)Ms Gockel has created an exciting world built on the Norse myths but brought them into our current time for the story to have a fresh approach. Here in Ragnarok, there are many characters truly frightened at what this must mean... the end of the world or apocalypse? Or does it really mean something else? All of the characters meet challenges in the fight to save their known worlds and preserve their way of life... though others may differ as to what this can entail. The story moved along very quickly, and there was never a dull moment! There are many twists and turns - and you won't see what is coming until it hits you! It was such a wonderful story that I hated to see it end! (I will more than likely come back and read it again as it was such a wonderful series!)Why do I love this story and the series? There are great characters who grow and roll with what is thrown at them - they discover they are more than they had originally believed of themselves... The characters are well developed and they are indeed more real in that they are NOT perfect - even the Asgardian "gods". There are moments where they question what they were told is right when the evidence seems to point in another direction.I love the Norse myths, and the author has taken these myths and turned them into a great epic saga where there is more than we had known from the stories. Her version brings the stories to life in a way that is unforgettable. While we may go on an emotional roller coaster with the characters, there are moments of humor to lighten it up when it gets quite heavy.I loved how Loki was portrayed... and his other incarnations! This is a great read! I recommend this highly as I know I will read it again and again - YES, it is THAT good!!! Enjoy! I just wish there was more!

Epic Ending for an Epic Series
This series has had highs and lows for me (really, I hesitate to use "lows" because emotional lows and sometimes necessary pacing changes aren't quality lows, just a difference in experiencing the story). This book, however, was high after high. The author really got to use all her colors to paint an expansive picture by letting us in on all the secrets. All the hints and teases, all the reveals are vastly satisfying. This book is large as the team moves from location to location, but the pace never lagged. I personally enjoyed that the majority of the book didn't hop from group to group, but instead we benefited from different perspectives within the main group.Gockel was saving up some SERIOUS feels for this final book and, boy, do they pack a punch. A really, very satisfying punch. Be prepared to say goodbye to some series staples, but for a book about the end of the world, the author handles the goodbyes well. Senseless deaths spurn on our team and heroic deaths do the same. Oodles of fuel leading up to some serious destruction at the end. While the book ends with our plot threads tied up neatly (well, as neatly as things can be using Chaos as a thread), Gockel offers a bonus epilogue for her mailing list slated to come out a month from Ragnarok's release! To my mind, this was the best of the series as we get to see a lot of growth and revelations happen for our main characters (and even secondary characters). I have read this series 3 times now and will continue to keep it handy. This series deserves to have a favored place for those who love a good fiction story with epic flair and deep characterization...and an appreciation for the irreverent :) this is Chaos we're dealing with, after all.

A True Classic
The entire βI Bring Fire Seriesβ is a true classic ending with Ragnarok. This book from the series pulls together all of the pieces of a great story merging the classic myths with urban fantasy. It is crafted in a way that keeps you reading and even going back to re-read the series. The trinity has always been an important part of mythology and religion. It is found everywhere and changes with the times. New religions took trinities from paganism and changed it to fit their view. Ms. Grockel is doing exactly the same thing in this series and you find out exactly who the new trinity is in Ragnarok. Even though you think you know, what you donβt know is how they changed in the new worldview. You will love in love with the characters of Bodhi and Amy especially. They are trying to find their way in the craziest situations. I love how they discover who they are and how they will continue in their new world. I enjoy the humor that is embedded in the story, especially from Bodhi. He has a rare gift of saying things that often makes you laugh or at the very least, smile.Ragnarok answers the questions set out in the previous books and the answers are not what you thought or expected. You see how loyalty, friendship, love, truth, and family call come together. Even though this part does have a suitable ending, there is still a lot of stories that can be told. I would love to see Ms. Grockel come back to this and continue with Bodhi, Amy, Claire, Fenrir and others. There is a lot of fun adventures that they could go on.

finally....
Jumping into it after just 2 chapters of book 5 I didn't have great problems following the story. Although I had no idea why Bodhi recalled now Loki's memories and Amy still had them too.I actually liked Bodhi for the first time when he realised that Loki never really loved Amy or was too scared to love a short living human. But I didn't understand why everybody knew Bodhi is the incarnation of Loki except Amy. She dismisses it each time her nose is pooked into it. The character Amy is a big disappointment too. From the tough and clever girl to a memory playback mouse who thinks everybody sees her weak. What a shame. Also, Beatrice got on my nerves with her intervening Bodhi and Amy, as well as Steve with his manipulations of the team. All this parallelity was annoying because it is obvious there is a change in the trinity but it takes 3 books for it to happen, with a lot slow motion inbetween. They felt like a remake with lesser actors.I guess in the end it made sense....Although I wasn't a big fan of book 4, 5& 6, this series is still fantastic, a really good attempt on the Norse mythology together with newest scientific research. It's a shame that book 3 didn't end on a happy end and just stopped. Book 4-6 just didn't make up to the high standard and fantastic read of the previous ones.

fantastic ending to a compelling series.
This is the final part of one of the most compelling series of books i have ever read, the author does a fantastic job of bringing Norse mythology into modern times. The plot is fast paced and well thought out with believable characters, i found myself fully immersed in the world that the author has created and could not put this book down.If you have read the other books in the series you will not be disappointed as this ties up the series beautifully, if you have not read the other books in the series get the first book you will not regret it!I am really looking forward to reading everything else the author has published and would like to thank her for sharing her art and talent with us the readers.

Fantastic
What a fantastic end to this wonderful collection of books. This series has been a great read and as soon as I finished one book I couldn't wait to start the next. Bohdi, Amy & Steve are great characters all with very different backgrounds that the author ties together brilliantly. This whole series of books gets a huge thumbs up from me, definitely worth the cost.

Ragnarok: I Bring the Fire Part VI
Brilliant story and followed on nicely from the last book. Beautifully written and keeps you turning the page every step of the way. There was the odd spelling mistake, however, it did not detract from the story or spoil it. Have never read anything by this author until I came across the Loki stories, but will definitely look at other stories as this was absolutely gripping from start to finish.
