I got this when a friend passed on her DSLR camera but not her adapter. I just pop the SD card out of the camera and into this. Then put this in my computer or Chromebook to transfer files. It's super helpful. No uploading it to a cloud and then having to redownload, just drag and drop.

Does not work satisfactorily on my Surface Pro 3 using a Sabrent 4-port hub and it's own power source. Either loses connection within a minute of being connected, or just does not make the connection. As an example, I plugged in the hub's power, and connected this device to the hub. It's been about 10 minutes now and the devices blue light is blinking at me, but no drive connection, no files. Seems to work without a hub, but this is not how I can use this since I need to use my mouse and the SP3 only has a single USB port.

Seriously, this is not a 3.0 it is a 2.0. Just because it says 3.0 and can work in either USB ports does not mean it is a 3.0. I have tried different cards with different filesystems and I never get any speed difference between 2.0 and this card, they are the same. Reading or Writing.If you need a card reader, I would go with a 2.0 or buy another 3.0 card reader. I did not return this card reader back but maybe I should have.Sorry, over promised and under delivered.

Let my PC with an outdated, crappy built-in card reader read newer SD cards again with no problems.Seems to work okay on Linux as well as Windows.

It just worked as expected. No complaints. I am not a heavy user of HD images and video, I just need to do simple transfers and it works fine for that purpose.

Very good piece of equipment. Works as described with no software to download. I would recommend this to anyone who needs to transfer picture with an older camera..

Everything works fabulous; my husband wishes it had some memory capability by itself without the need of adding a chip but that was to be expected....

Kappe abgezogen, SDHC Karte eingesteckt, Lesegerät ins Laptop gesteckt und unter Windows 7 so schnell selbst installiert, das ich es beinahe gar nicht mitgekriegt habe. Liest auch meine alten SD Karten und funktioniert auch problemlos mit USB 2,0. Das Gehäuse besteht aus matt schwarzem Kunststoff und hat an der einen Ecke eine kleine Öffnung, um dort so eine Art Schlaufe, Band oder Schlüsselring durchzuziehen.Klar ist er ziemlich klobig, wenn man ihn an zwei nebeneinander liegenden USB Ports benutzen will, da er dann den einen davon ca zu einem Viertel verdeckt. Aber zur Not kann man ja ein USB Kabel benutzen. Preis Leistung find ich insgesamt top. Eine blaue LED informiert mit Leuchten oder Blinken über den Datenaustausch. Die englisch-chinesische Anleitung braucht eigentlich kein Mensch.

... könnte noch mehr Formate unterstützen und am Anschluss kleiner sein, sodass man 2 nebeneinanderliegende USB Ports am PC benutzen kann. Auf meiner Reise kam ich oft in die Situation, dass es nur einen PC mit 4 USB Anschlüssen gab, an einem war die Maus und Tastatur, und die anderen 2 waren weiter unten nebeneinander. Mit dem Lesegerät installiert, kann man den benachbarten Port NICHT mehr benutzen.Ansonsten hat er gut gehalten und alle Bilder / Videos zügig auf meine Festplatte kopiert, Lesefehler gab es nie, und Karte sind alle heile.

konnte gerade 2x eine micro sd- karte lesen, danach wird sie nicht mehr erkannt, wenn ich die micro sd-karte -oben- und zusätzlich einen leeren adapter -unten- einstecke funktioniert es wieder, nur dann kann ich auch gleich den adapter nehmen, war aber nicht sinn der sache

Der USB Stick wird sehr schnell von Win 10 erkannt. Er ist sehr praktisch zum Mitnehmen, vor allem mit einer Micro SD Karte. Mit einer kleinen USB 3 Verlängerung paßt er auch neben einen USB Port.
