I have owned a self winding Vintage Heuer watch for over 50 years. In a way my daily activities centered around making certain my watch stayed wound up so a reset was unnecessary . The Watch Winder was the answer to my dream. No more daily planning around my chronograph. Upon its arrival the plastic cover was detached from the housing (a real bummer). However after some rebuilding of the hinge I put the unit to work. What a thrill !! I always thought a winder was a luxury. No more. I won't ever be without one again. Not only does it work but it protects the watch from being used in damaging areas simply to keep it running. The crystal is no longer being replaced every 6 months due to damage from over use in bad situations. Winding at night was the ultimate answer. This unit pays for itself from day one.

Before I purchased this item one month ago I read the reviews and decided to try my luck. Some had great things to say and others thought the item was garbage. After owning and using the item for the past month I would caution buyers who are looking for something quiet. For the first couple of weeks it ran perfectly, didnt make a sound. Now I can hear the gears grinding when it's operating. It does work as advertised though, runs for one hour and rests for three hours. I have noticed that if I run it in the counterclockwise motion that my watch seems to lose time but it works fine if I run it clockwise. As with any other product that one may purchase there is always the chance that you will get a "lemon". I will use this item until it dies and then I will look for something with better quality.

When the product first arrived it operated as advertised. It was quiet and worked great. After a few weeks, it started to make a squeaking sound. When I first heard it I thought a mouse or squirrel had gotten into the house and finally tracked the sound down to the watch rotator. Come to find out that the gears that rotate the watch are all made of plastic, a low grade plastic at that. So I don't expect it to even last much longer. It already hangs up for a bit and then rotates, then hangs up, then rotates, so that will eventually strip out the plastic gears. If you only plan to use the watch rotator every once in a while you will probably be ok. I only use it on the weekends and I still ran into this problem.

Should have read the reviews. This isn't so noisy that I could hear it during normal daily activities, but it is noisy enbough to hear in the quiet of the evening. While not the fault of the machine, my 45 year old watch did not wind very well with this. It does look nice, seems to be well made, and is easy to setup and use.

I set the rotator up, and turned it on. The set up was complicated because the watch I bought it for has a large butterfly clasp that can't be secured in the mechanism of the rotator. Also, the watch is big enough that the lid needs to be left open which will allow dust in. The rotator itself works well. It has no problem rotating this big (47mm) watch, and is completely silent while doing it. It's only been turned on for about 1.5hrs, so if any problems arise, I'll edit this review to reflect that. But, so far, it works fine, and I would recommend it.

Unfortunately this watch rotator is not designed for watches with attached bracelets and I was unable to use it to keep my Rolex wound up so it was totally useless for me, and I returned it. I wish that this had been pointed out in the write up on this product so I did not have to waste both my time and Amazon's time and their cost for shipping on this. I write this review in the hopes that it will be posted and warn those who may be considering the product and it cannot be used with watches with attached continuous bracelets that are an integral part of the watch

I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER, BUT ALL OF THE REVIEWS I SAW UP TO THE POINT OF PURCHASE SHOWED BUYERS HAPPY WITH THIS WATCH WINDER. IT WORKED FINE FOR AROUND 3 1/2 MONTHS, THEN STARTED MAKING A RATTLING NOISE WHEN IT WAS RUNNING. IT DID GO ON AND OFF PERIODICALLY AS ADVERTISED, BUT CONSIDERING WHAT I PAID FOR IT, I FEEL AS THOUGH IT SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST WORKED QUIETLY.

I've had this for three weeks, and I do not have any issues with it. Works perfect, no noises, and does what it says. I am not experiencing any of the issues brought up in some of the negative reviews. I wonder if they are over using it, causing extra wear. Automatic watches can last up to 36 hrs fully wound, so you do not need to use the rotator daily. Also, I have to concur with some of the reviews stating better directions would be nice. The middle plastic piece is supposed to be pulled out to place the watch on it.
