The book no longer comes with a CD. The software is not intuitive to setup, but once setup is easy to use. My only complaint is that the software is a subscription that seems to be valid for 16 months only.Granted one could download the music files on a PC, not all files are in the download zip file. One needs to copy the remaining files from the cache directory of the software. But then you loose the nice user interface to play the files at a reduced speed, etc... from the app.The fact that the app can only be used for 16 months, and that the software is a 16 month subscription ought to be disclosed clearly. Or better yet, they should include a lifelong subscription like every other book manufacturer does.

I played fro. Grade school until college. Took a 10 year break from it and came back to playing. It is a great book as a refresher and a great method for new students. I am now using it to teach my son and he's doing great. Get the one with the audio CD... it really helps to play along and hear an example. The CD does both for each line in the book. My son even. Moment ed on it with the CD.... loves it now....
