Penn-Plax Cascade 80 Power Filter – Hang-On Filter with Quad Filtration – Great for Freshwater and Saltwater Setups

I’ve always loved this cascade filter, I use it on my 5 gallon aquariums and they keep them clear. I love that I can control the flow of the water with easy turn.

I have to say that this is by far the the worst product I have received from Amazon even tho the product had a sticker stating that it was inspected by Amazon, (yeah Right!)words just can't express just how disappointed I am with this. Didn't even have a filter for starters and it was absolutely filthy, I don't know why anyone would want to use this taking a chance making your Betta sick or what not knowing the history behind a filter that looks like it had been used.... Wow!! 🐟

This has worked perfectly for my Betta. The suction is not strong enough to pull his fins in. The waterfall does send him for a loop but he avoids it.

I got the Cascade 80 for my 10 gallon betta tank to replace my somewhat noisy and space-hogging Whisper filter. Upon installation, it seems to be working just fine. Next to no noise and minimal space usage. However, the flow adjustment, which I had specifically picked the Cascade for, doesn’t seem to work. I turn the knob, and absolutely nothing happens, which is unfortunate. My betta requires a low-flow filter. The current is a little too strong for him, though admittedly it’s better than my previous filter. Pretty good product, just one malfunctioning feature.

Make sure that you get proper tank cleaning tools and not just this filter. It gets dirty pretty easily and the motor starts to give out about after a year.

This filter is great for a Betta tank. The flow is more like a stream and doesn’t push me betta around.

looks nice, keeps the water clear, but very poor performance from the premade filter pads. ph goes bad quickly...and my tanks are properly populated and well maintained. if there's a way to construct my own filter pack for this, I'd do it. as it is, I put my little bubbler filter in the tank and it's doing a great job. btw, there is no cover to contain any bubbling at top of filter.

Placé dans un aquarium de 10 gallons, l'eau était toujours trouble et il y avait beaucoup de matières en suspension. Ce filtre n'arrive pas à filtrer l'eau convenablement et les cartouches sont à changer souvent. Je suis revenu à Aquaclear et la différence s'est fait sentir en seulement 4 heures. Extrêmement déçu.

Flowing very strong so far. Very easy to setup!

The motor just died after 2 months. It's bad luck I guess.
