It looks like it would work fine in any configuration, pushing or pulling, but at least for me it only works if I pull it towards me. If I try to push it, the blade just digs in. I may be using it wrong, but there is no particular reason to push instead of pull, so it works for me when I do it right. For the price it was a great deal. The handle is exceptionally well made and is easy to grasp in my large hands. The deburring blade is held with a quick release and is a snap to change. They include a good number of spares. This is so much nicer to use over the other options, like the conical tool you insert into the tube. This is fast, clean, and you can see the copper being trimmed, so you have perfect control.
