It looks slick and feels sturdy. However, it didnt fit the firat jar I tried it on so I resorted to the "whack on the lid edge to break the seal" method. It worked fine on the next one I tried. I wouldnt call it a game changer but it was okay.

I purchased the set of jar opener and bottle opener in gray and teal. This was an impulse buy, but well worth every penny. I am young for arthritis (50ish) yet I have had issues with my joints, especially my fingers, since contracting chronic Lyme disease. Grasping things is very difficult with either hand, and jar lids are impossible for me at times. The jar device is my new best friend in the kitchen! This sturdy and simple device has been effective for various sizes of vessels with screw lids from a soda bottle to an extra large pickle jar. The silicone inner part provides plenty of friction for grip, and the simple squeeze design of the handle is comfortable to grasp. I hand washed it easily, but it doesn’t seem to splash contents when I open jars. The compact size fits nicely in my utensil drawer, but the neutral colors are pleasing and could easily be left in a countertop. I have only used the bottle opener once, but it is manufactured the same as the jar opener. It seems sturdy and is compact. This is a great, simple, practical and not break the bank idea for a gift. I highly recommend this product.

I actually got a callus on my fingers from opening up soda bottles all the time, then I broke my dominant arm and lost a lot of strength in my dominant hand for several months. These have been a life saver! Even though my arm and hands are back to a good strength I continue to use them because they just make opening things so much easier and faster. Using these has also made my callus from opening soda bottles go away.Buy this! I promise you won’t be disappointed. I referred this to another friend who had shoulder surgery and she was so thankful I had told her about this as well.

The large jar opener is good. The smaller bottle opener doesn't fit all. I tried it on an isopropyl alcohol bottle and it fit great. Tried it on a bottle of spring water and it is too large to grip the cap. Works great though on a coke bottle cap. So the one reason to buy was for water bottles and it failed.

I bought this primarily because I got the dosing funnel stuck on my off the market portafilter for my espresso machine. I purchased this jar opener and an OXO one. I was desperate to pry off the funnel or I would’ve kicked myself for wasting money on the portafilter.My first attempt was a fail. I just gripped it as hard as possible and wrenched the 2 apart with w reckless abandon. Everything happened so fast. It worked! This cheap $5.99 gadget worked! So relieved. If it can pry off the funnel that was wedged on so tightly, I’m pretty confident it’ll work for any jar.
