Let's be clear. This scope is possible to get useable waveforms. I do recommend Hscope app for android to use with this scope. It does help with some of this scopes short comings such as the short memory. You want at least 3 cycles and unfortunately it's can be hard to get with this scope. I would recommend the 6074BE. I know people say great things about the 1008C. I honestly don't see it. I like a lot of waveform to sort through for issues. This is more hobbyist.

This is a review of the Hantek 1008B oscilloscope. First, the good. This scope is of the same reliable quality as many other Hantek products. The included probes and cables are also good quality. The 1008B is an impressive cost effective oscilloscope a whooping 8 channels. With this many channels, there's a lot you can do with this scope. Just keep in mind its bandwidth is a bit more limited, so loading up all 8 channels might push its capabilities. But this isn't necessarily a bad thing for this particular model considering its price point. 8 channel scopes that perform better can cost literally 1-2 thousand more. In short, this is a great entry to mid level oscilloscope. The not so great... Software that accompany oscilloscopes is really important. Unfortunately, the current version of the Hantek 1008 software falls short of being as good has the hardware. It does work and is stable, but anyone that has used other other oscilloscope software may be disappointed. Another shortcoming is the 1008B is marketed as an automotive scope. Typically, that requires a lot of bandwidth and depth, and the 1008B specifications are somewhat low in those areas. This is not surprising considering it great price point. This shortcoming will become apparent if you use several of its 8 channels at once. Summary... Great entry level scope at a great price with 8 channels. Reliable and quality hardware. Somewhat disappointing software and easily overwhelmed using 8 channels for automotive diagnostics.

Although for the money this unit is a good deal, I was hopping the driver and software would install on a Windows Vista laptop which I have a few that are used mainly for electronic work, Plc coding etc.. The Main program installs ok and runs in demo mode but the driver will not for vista.. or anything older I guess. In version C I believe the USB interface was changed, the drivers for the older models do install but won't match the USB interface in the C model. I just order a Windows 10 tablet (RCA 10.1 inch ) that has two USB ports on it. The help file does state it requires windows 7 and up but does not seem to state that here on the site when looking at it.. Just

I have taught oscilloscope operation and usage for Picoscope, Snap On scopes, Autel scopes and lab scopes. This by far the most difficult and frustrating instrument to attempt to set up I have ever dealt with. And then, after you laboriously get your settings right.... nothing. I have managed to get the scope to display twice, and both times it was about a 1 second clip that bore no resemblance to what I wanted. No matter how I adjusted it, what capture method, what trigger, or how many times I cycled the start/stop button, it just didn't work. In addition, the leads are too short, almost to even be usable. The clips at the end of the leads are too small and cheap. When the insulation heats up (hello.... it's and AUTOMOTIVE scope... things get warm!) they become extremely slick so that it is very difficult to hold on to them or open them. Just about the time you get it open to max and in place, the clip flips around inside the insulation and you are starting all over again. When I bought this, I was looking at diagnosing a particular car and I bought the Hantek and a Pico. But the Pico was twice the money for 2 channels, and this was for 8, so I thought it was the better deal. Oh, fool that I am. I remember now that I had a great deal of trouble trying to get this one to work on that car, and got a perfect picture on the Pico. All I wanted today was to capture an alternator output to verify that the diodes were shorted, so I even used the built-in charging system check function. Nada. Even using their settings I could not get any pattern at all. I definitely do not recommend this scope for anyone or anything.

Für mich nicht nutzbar da die Treiber nicht signiert sind und sich unter der aktuellen Version von win11 nicht installieren lassen leider kann ich auch nicht die Treibersignatur Erkennung deaktivieren bei meiner Version von Windows 11
