Review: Fantastic item. Incredibly small - Fantastic item. Incredibly small. It worked with my iPhone 7 (no thanks to them for removing the headphone port and consolidated it with the lightning charger port!) Since I had to choose between charging my phone OR using the headphones, I decided to go with this little item. Now I can charge my phone at Starbucks AND watch my videos without disturbing anyone around me. This is handy for those who still have 3.5mm headphones and don't want to shell out money to buy NEW bluetooth headphones to replace it. Whether you NEED this item like I did, or you just want it so you don't have to buy new bluetooth headphone replacements, this headphone adapter is PERFECT! However, you might have to fidget with it for a while for other bluetooth devices, like my Nexus HD7 tablet where I had to change the settings to connect.

However, minor flaws make it lose one star. The control panel on the device works... Most of the time... But it could be done better. Adjusting volume and skipping to next song/podcast is easier to operate on the phone than on the device. Battery life is actually awesome. Usually lasts a full day of medium to heavy use. Bluetooth connectivity works perfectly... I wait to do my reveiws for at least 2 weeks because yesterday I found that the device connected but wasn't receiving audio. I eventually got it to work through dis/re connecting a few times but it wasn't seamless. Phone calls are a bit hard to advertise because the mic doesn't actually go through your headphones, it goes through the device. So you need to either hold the end of your headphones up to your mouth, or clip it to your shirt just so you can talk. Overall, this has been the best accessory I've spent my money on for my pixel 2 sinoky because it makes it easier to use a device that ditched the traditional headphone jack. Not easy, but easier.

**Q: Can you use it while it's charging?**
A: Yes, the iTrip Clip can be used while charging. Here's how:1. Press and hold the Play/Pause button 5 seconds to turn off the iTrip Clip2. Connect iTrip Clip to a charging source using the included USB cable (look for red charging light)3. Hold down Play/Pause button for 3 seconds to turn iTrip Clip back on4. The iTrip Clip is ready to work while simultaneously chargingNote: Plugging your charge cable in before powering it down will cause iTrip to turn off. If this happens,  hold down Play/Pause button for 3 seconds to turn iTrip Clip back on

**Q: Will the video sound sync issues be addressed or is this an inherent limitation of the hardware?**
A: The A/V sync cannot be corrected. The only time the video will be in sync is if the device transmitting the BT signal is AVRCP aware and can delay the video playback to match the bluetooth audio processing delay. Many phones and tablets can do this as they are decoding both streams but other devices, such as bluetooth transmitters plugged into video devices like TVs, disk players, and receivers cannot. The only option there would be to get an AptX capable transmitter and an AptX capable receiver. Those have a modified BT audio codec which reduces the audio lag to 30-50ms, which is ~ 1-1.5 frames of a video stream and is not noticeable.

**Q: How does the mic sound on a call? Better or worse than iPhone headphones?**
A: I have not had any issue and i have a cheap pair of ear phones with a mic ($8).  So far my wife has been able to hear and understand me and she sound fine.  I listen to iHeartRadio and i get about 5 to 5:30 hrs of continuous air time before i have to charge it.

**Q: Can you use the inline microphone instead of the hand free microphone on the itrip clip?**
A: No, and this is my major complaint w device. Once headphones are plugged-in w iTrip powered-on, the inline mic is deactivated and the iTrip mic is the only mic that works. But it's likely clipped away from your mouth (on belt, in pocket, on shirt near collar, on seatbelt strap). The position is nowhere near as good as your deactivated mic is near mouth.  And by my experience, the iTrip mic is not nearly as good. I get complaints often from others that they can't hear well, of heavy background noise (car fan, outside traffic), etc. This is especially a problem when using in car and wanting to charge simultaneously. In this case the iTrip is probably resting near charging port, away from mouth, and the mic is barely effective. 

The iTrip is best for listening wirelessly, especially in a car thru the stereo Aux-in port if you don't have a car w built-in Bluetooth. It's not great for chatting. Bummer.

Excellent solution for using your own favorite wired headphones/earbuds over Bluetooth. Tiny, sounds great, nice clip, plenty of controls. Using it with a Pixel XL (gen 1) and all the controls (including access to the Google Assistant and phone calls) work great. I was worried about the loudness--don't, it really cranks out the volume. I destroyed my wired jack by using it at the gym and this solves that problem in a very affordable manner. Be sure to read the instructions and this product will be your favorite new friend. I also tried the BlueAnt Ribbon but the Griffin is far superior in audio performance that it's no contest.
