Not Recommended
The Bass Wah Effects pedal was a disappointment on many levels. First of all, this is not a wah wah pedal. it does not create the wah wah sound, and none of the sounds sound remotely similar to a wah. The pedals sounds are random at best, and might be cool for the first hour, but that is it. The battery life is miniscule, only lasting a couple hours unless you remember to unplug the pedal in-between uses, although the resullt does not help much. The booklet provides settings for different sounds, although most of them (ie a funk sound, blues sounds, or anything like that) require another pedal to be combined. I found out on top of all of this, that i needed another cable to operate it (don't buy monster, the cables are the same). Altogether my experience was a hassle and I turned to the Crybaby Pedal for an actual wah.

its ok but not the killer unit the hype says it is....a lot of unusable tones....I can live without it....

Think outside the box
Not for everyone or every sonic situation..but I've been using this pedal to great effect for over 8 years now. The kicker is that where this pedal REALLY shines is as a guitar effects pedal- not bass. I've found the sweet spot sandwiching it between a 2x12 all tube Peavy cabinet or with an x/y splitter feeding signal through the Digitech into a 1x15 Ampeg cab. Anyway you slice it the responsiveness and octave reproduction is very clean, accurate and free of distortion. There are an endless array of tones to be found between your guitar's toggle switch and the sensitivity knob on the pedal itself...experiment! Well worth the money.

Cool and well made pedal
I've been playing bass guitar a long time but was never into effects. However I was intriqued by this one. The dual outputs were a plus as I use a main amp "straight" combined with a smaller amp I use for some added sound shaping and presence. While I do think that the "Wah" title is a bit misleading, this thing can get so many nice/fun envelope and synth effects it doesn't matter. Plenty of control over intensity, it can be used nicely without going overboard but you can get pretty silly too if you want. You just have to get used to the control settings. For the money the thing gets a lot of tones but probably most importantly nails the classic bass synth and filter sounds well, plus it's built incredibly solidly. It's like a little green brick. I can't even find any flaws in the finish.Impressive.Only drawback is battery life is indeed short and despite the nice pin device for changes, you'll need to spring for a power supply. That and the "wah" title are what kept me from giving the 5th star.Get it and have fun!

Cool stompbox!
I play a Musicman 5 HH, and this thing funks up my sound just fine. It's quiet, easy to adjust, seems very sturdy and the battery compartment doesn't require screws - the moveable pedal easily comes off with the use of a 1/4" plug to depress the pin, revealing the battery underneath. I gave this 4 stars because the actual battery connector does not fit my battery of choice , Duracell 9v alkalines. The negative terminal on these batteries is somewhat square and the supplied connector wants a more rounded terminal like Everready 9 volt batteries have.I would recommend using an external power supply, this thing sucks down batteries at the rate of one every 3 hours of playing. PS200R supplies cost about $15, so after three gigs the supply has paid for itself. If you need this type of effect, this pedal is a pretty good deal.

FUN PEDAL
THIS IS A FUN PEDAL. I BOUGHT THE BASS SYNTH WAH TO USE WITH MY HOME COMPUTER RECORDING SETUP. I ONLY GAVE IT A THREE BECAUSE THERE ONLY A COUPLE OF SOUNDS THAT APPEAL TO ME FOR MY BASS. I PLAY MOSTLY FUNK AND BLUES-ROCK.THE OCTAVE SETTING SOUNDS PRETTY COOL. IT CAN BE SET TO WAH WITH THIS EFFECT. SOME OF THE SYNTH SOUNDS ON LOW INTENSITY ARE ALSO COOL. THE PEDAL IS WELL MADE AND SOUNDS GOOD. SOMEONE WHO IS MORE INTO USING BASS EFFECTS WOULD LIKE THIS. ALSO IT WORKS BEST IF YOU CAN BI-AMP, SENDING THE EFFECT TO THE HIGH END AND KEEPING THE LOWS CLEAN. GOOD DEAL FOR THE PRICE.

digitech sinth wah
