Broke quickly
Handle broke after grinding 2 bags of coffee. Consistent enough grind for the price.

Very nice unit with just a little more engineering.
I bought this because I am up hours before anyone else and my burr grinder sounds like a lawn mower and I needed something quiet. The grind coarseness is adjustable and very consistent. The handle, inner workings and the jar all feel very solid. The only problem with this grinder is that the grind bin doesn't fill as the beans grind. I have to rap it on the side a few times to knock some more beans into the grinder. So I crank the handle once, maybe twice, rap it on the side 3 or 4 times, repeat for 5 minutes. I've tried 3 different coffee types thinking maybe a smaller bean would work but they all seem about the same size and all had the same problem.

Flawed but Enjoyable Grinder
The screw off top to put on containers like mason jars is a big plus. I had trouble with the coarseness setting changing all the time from usage, though. Every time I went to use it, I had to make sure the coarseness was correct. Often, I would grind and then run through again on a finer setting. The screw on mechanism for the top was prone to stripping the threads, as well. Still, this was a really nice grinder.

Can't get handle off any more to adjust grind level
It is a simple grinder but I find it difficult to rotate the handle completely in one direction without considerable effort. The width of the bowl is just a little too large to hold comfortably with one hand while generating enough force to turn the handle. I've been holding it against my body or doing quarter turns while holding the bar of the handle rather than the end. However, now the problem is I can no longer remove the handle as it has slipped into the notches and can't wiggle free. The stem that it goes over has a slight rectangular shape so that the handle fits over it only in one position and when it slips slightly 1/8 turn, it can no longer come off. Will return.

I thought it would be nice to have a manual one
When deciding on a coffee grinder, I thought it would be nice to have a manual one. I really like this one and so do my kids, who often grind the coffee for me. Other reviewers have complained that it takes too much effort to grind the coffee. That hasn't been the case for me but it might be because I only grind enough for one cup each morning. For that purpose, it's rather easy and I like feeling that I'm using my muscles a bit. Overall, so easy to use my kids can do it on their own. I've had it for a couple weeks, use it every morning and have had no problems with it so far.

Easy to use
Easy to use, adjustable, and creates a fairly consistent grain size. Creates some fines but not nearly as many as the electric chopper style coffee grinder I was using before. Takes a bit more time than an electric, but look at it as a light workout to get the blood pumping in the morning. Crank handle is a little loose.

I love this coffee grinder
I love this coffee grinder! It is easy to use, and the mechanical parts seem very durable, and therefore, long lasting. It works well for one, but suspect if there were another induldging it could get a bit tiring grinding each morning. Having said this, I often grind for the next day, or at least partially so, just to be ahead of the game a bit. Very well made coffee grinder, and who doesn't love that it needs no energy source other than your two hands?

And the knob on the handle is looser than I'd like. But for the price
I bought it because the fineness control is locked in place (my espresso machine is very picky about fineness). It's a bit awkward to hold. And the knob on the handle is looser than I'd like. But for the price, it gets the job done nicely.
