The latest DA series by Beamworks provides a high quality, energy efficient light fixture that replaces the typical single or dual tube fluorescent lights. This plant version is fitted with 6500K spectrum LEDs that are commonly used for planted freshwater setups. LEDs are fitted in a sleek and razor-thin fixture that will make any other aquarium light look boring. Long lasting LEDs with no bulb replacement required. Fixture is pre-wired for use with the optional timer module to program on and off times.

The light is very bright.
The light is very bright. I got the 36" model, and wasn't expecting it to be this bright. If you didn't get the timer with this light, both the whites and blues are on when daylight mode is used. If the night time mode is used, only the blues turn on. The power cord is also long, and does have a brick attached to it.

Great light, horrible power supply.
The irony of this product is that while the lights themselves are fantastic for their price, the power supplies included are garbage. I have two of these fixtures and both power supplies failed within a year of use, even with appropriate surge protector and electrically suitable location. It is frustrating as well trying to contact them as they have no apparent customer service branch (that i can find). If you need a decent light on the cheap, I recommend picking up a high quality and suitable power supply from a 3rd party along with this purchase, or just go on to another brand all together to avoid these crummy PSUs.

nothing in this price range beats this light
i looked for another LED to add to my 40 gallon to "supplement" my existing current satellite plus. there were other cheaper/budget lights i considered at this <$75 price point but i decided to give the beamswork a try since there was a decent amount of reviews for this light.i have this light on an timer module controlled by alexa and have the blue lights turned on as well. didnt consider a dimmer as my tank is injected w/ co2 so the additional light was what i was looking for. immediately adding this light i was very impressed w/ the color sprectrum which is a nice white/yellow and the brightness is easily what id consider as medium intensity. it has become my main light w/ the satellite plus being the supplement. so far so good w/ this light. i would consider going w/ it entirely by replacing the satellite but ill wait things out a bit.1st pic with beamswork only . 2nd with satellite. The beamswork overpowers the satellite so its very difficult to see the difference

Great Light!
BeamsWorkDA90 36Inch/90 cmLumen: 5000LEDs: 100x 0.50 wattConfig: 84x 6500K, 16x Actinic2 Modes: All on / 16x onlyTimer ReadyThis is basically an unboxing of the 36" DA 90 with some pictures installed over a 40 Breeder (36 3/16 x 18 1/4 x 16 15/16). Bought this based on internet reviews and has only been running for 24 hours. Color looks good, it didn't heat up for its first 6 hour run time, supposedly works with a timer and/or dimmer. Both timer and dimmer have been ordered, at not yet received. All images were taken with all lights, both daylight and actinic, fully on.Inline Timer : https://www.amazon.com/Timer-Module-Beamswork-Aquarium-Fixture/dp/B00EDMOHH8/ref=sxbs_sxwds-stvp?keywords=dimmer+beamswork&pd_rd_i=B00EDMOHH8&pd_rd_r=7a52ae25-17c7-4c41-8f33-e7e95ea0a92c&pd_rd_w=lJck2&pd_rd_wg=Cik63&pf_rd_p=5c5ea0d7-2437-4d8a-88a7-ea6f32aeac11&pf_rd_r=P30HVJG3CNK5YR71T9N3&qid=1549814059&s=gatewayIt supposedly gives you control over the daylight and actinic independently where the fixture does not. The fixture has two modes daylight+actinic or just actinic.Dimmer Switch: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008FC04I8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Supposedly the light is rather intense and can promote algae in a unbalanced tank. The dimmer will assist with the intensity of the light.

Great light
Order this light, fast shipping and even faster return and refund. I thought I had placed an order for the 30" and see that I actually order the 36". Was going to keep it for my 40 breeder but decided to reorder the correct size. I did check out the light before returning it. It is bright and the tank and fish popped for the few mins I checked it out. This is a great light and one that will not break the bank. The seller is top notch as well.

What an amazing light!
I use this light for my planted 40 gallon breeder tank. I am amazed by how bright this light is. For the price, you can't beat it. I have a variety of low and mid light plants and they are all excelling. I also purchased the timer that goes with the light and i love the combination. I use the moon light effect an hour before and after the white lights come on to help my fish not be shocked by the brightness. I have it set currently to 10 hours blue, 8 hours white, i will likely reduce to 6 hours because this light is so strong. If you are looking for a mid to high range led light, this is a must!

Excellent set of LED lights
Very good performance for the price. So much better than the days of fluorescent bulbs.Having the optional blue lights only is great for night viewing.I would say if you have a well planted tank I would buy two sets but for an average tank one is just fine. Color is great...low heat output is also great. Plus they use very little electricity and the LED's will last forever. Also I like the low profile look that does not stick way above the aquarium like the old Fluo hoods. I mean why ever buy a Fluorescent hood again.....!

I wish this 5000 lumen lamp came in full spectrum.
It sits high over the glass that some of the light shines towards you when on a sitting position and distracts your view. It's bright but needs some red for a more natural look. I wish Beamswork would redesign this so it's not so bulky and would sit flush on the glass or just make a full spectrum one with 5000 lumens like this. The other Beamswork models have full spectrum but not nearly as bright as this one.
