Drifters Volume 2 Paperback – August 14, 2012

Darkhorse might need to look into a reprint of these books because for some reason they are getting more more expensive, especially for volume 2, it is getting to the point where it’s like Hellsing volume 10.

Drifters pits pretty cool renditions of historical warriors and heroes from different ages in a fantastical world. As much as I love Hellsing, I have to admit that this manga has a more interesting plot and character interactions because unlike Alucard, the protagonists aren't "simply" badass unkillable death machines, so they go to battle planning and fighting in more resourceful ways. There are historical references and humor too, I love it.

I started looking into drifters because i love kota hiranos art but the story is even better than Hellsings in some aspects

I definitely recommend reading both of the current released volumes. I couldn't put them down! Imaginative, riveting and titillating, Drifters is a testament to the genius of Kohta Hirano who has captured the attention of audiences all over the world with his previous manga, "Hellsing". I would ever go so far as to say Drifters is even better than Hellsing... So, yeah, it's good.

This story is so interesting and weird in a good way!

You cant go wrong with this series

After the destruction of the soldiers sent to pacify their village, the elves have little choice but to rebel against their human oppressors or die in the inevitable retaliation. As such the Drifters learn about the world they find themselves in, they take the elves under their wing and teach them the realities of war, fighting back against the humans and retaking what was taken from them. Meanwhile the Ends continue their path of destruction and set their sights on removing the obstacle posed by the Drifters.This second volume of the 'Drifters' manga is another great instalment of this entertaining series. The artwork remains good with some very nice action scenes that can get quite gory. This volume introduces some interesting world building for the setting revealing some of the history for the human empire of Orte. The volume introduces a few new characters and sees the first clash between the Drifters and the Ends. The translation used in the volume is generally very good despite there being some minor differences from the version I read previously but this is a relatively minor issue.The volume also includes the usual bonus comic, afterword and a humours introduction to some of the characters.This volume of 'Drifters' was greatly entertaining and this series is definitely becoming one of my favorites. This instalment is well worth a full five stars.

Drifters vol 2 is another great entry , adding in all the eccentricities of characters found in Hiranos other work Hellsing! This volume is more of the usual over the top action and dark humour found in the first volume! Well worth a read!

Des illustrations toujours de qualité, du texte bien traduit et des references a tout va et toujours cette part d'humour qui fait que du Hirano, c'est inimitable. Recommandé vivement pour les amateurs d'hellsing et du manga d'action en general.
