Solid stuff when magnets are huge and powerful, dont use ferrite magnets - not strong enough.
2oz is actually quite a bit. Good stuff, reacts with magnets and may be good for injecting into the bum of a security guard to free your human magnet friend. I'd say don't actually get this on anything, as it really stains the crap out of your hands/clothes/cat. For extra fun suspend it in about a 70/30 rubbing alcohol/distilled water solution. If you suspend it in 100 alcohol, it separates from the oil suspension and becomes these little black chunks that will be like the worst paint you've ever gotten on your hands. I made the mistake of dumping it in my white bathroom sink and then touched the chunk. It promptly stuck to my fingers and turned them black. I then tried to wipe it out of the sink which was wrong and it spread like a strange paint. Needless to say, the only thing that got this off my hands and sink was more rubbing alcohol and determined rubbing (heh).Get some bottles and make some 'Dwarfs in a bottle' and wow your anime friends with your amazing living Dwarf. Just no soul sucking.

This stuff is a mess, but it's a heck of a lot of fun!My son and I experimented with a few different suspension solutions to create a display. We spent a couple messing around and had a great time. His friends were duly impressed with the fluid's reactions to magnetic fields and he donated the best one to his teacher. (5th grade)It doesn't take a whole of the fluid in a solution to create a cool display. Just don't get it on anything. It stains like you wouldn't believe

Good quality ferrofluid!
Great flow and magnetic properties to this fluid! I tried making my own for some projects and it did not go too well. This stuff works great! No issues at all.

Works well for photos
Perfect for what I needed it for! I was looking for a macro shot of it and it worked out beautifully. Note: I did not use the Petri dish that came with the kit (I had some larger glass ones) nor did I use the magnets that came with it (I had stronger ones available).

Buy it from someone else!
I got it to use for fun, however the bottle was only 2/3 full and after a day it stopped being very magnet losing the few spikes it actually had!! Not that it had many to begin with! It is a really small bottle too, so with it being only 2/3 full it was barely any ferrofluid to use! It is really not a good product. There was barely any of it and it was not very magnetic, and lost a lot of its magnetism after barely a day, slowly losing more!

It’s messy and be sure to use a strong magnet. .
This stuff is pretty messy if you’re not careful. It’s essentially iron shavings contained in used car oil. Seriously it smells and looks like used motor oil. I almost gave this a 1 star review had not for my son found a strong enough magnet to make the spikes appear. So be sure to have a quality heavy duty magnet handy.
