Its simple and it works, no complaints. It is nice to have both hands free when siphoning. It makes the process easier for sure and also allows you to set the source vessel higher than you could if you needed to have one hand on the top vessel and another on or in the bottom vessel.With my stainless cane I was able to leave it alone when I wanted and a light push downward set the cane deeper into the beer being transferred with no trouble. So it holds tight enough to be hands free but also allows adjusting the level of the cane on the fly. Perfect really.The reference to "auto siphon" in the product name gave me some pause, but the photos showed it being used with a traditional racking cane so I gave it a try. It does in fact fit a traditional, non-auto siphon. It takes a little more work to get started, but I prefer the traditional racking cane because I feel there is less likelihood of oxygenating the beer.

I wish I had examined every detail of this ad instead of just the title. Though it says "auto siphon" in the title, it does NOT work on an auto siphon, so was useless to me when I excitedly went to try it on 10 gallons of fruit wine last week. Had to hold my siphon by hand, grr. I guess I will buy a cane to use with this clip, since I find the auto siphon a pain to wash and dry anyway. I love the idea of being able to keep my intake at the exact level needed to avoid the sediment. And when I tried this clip on the exit end of my siphon hose to keep it from flopping out of the bucket, it held tightly enough to get the job done, but loose enough that if you tug on it it comes off rather than tipping your vessel or something. I dunno... I haven't tried any other type to compare so I can't say how good these are, but they seem ok. Seems like quality material- no nasty plastic smell. But I am ticked at the mislabel.
