Getting away from CFL
I purchased these because we're trying to get away from CFL bulbs that we were using to replace the standard incandescent bulbs. Until recently, LED bulbs have been pretty pricey, and still are, but are coming down in price as the technology develops. Plus I've done some research on the ill effects of "blue light" that's emitted from CFL's and florescent lights, computers, TV;s etc. I'm not referring to the blue light you can see but the higher frequency blue light that messes with your eyes and sleep pattern. Google it if you don't know what I'm referring to. These may still emit the "blue light" but I have to think that it will be at a much lower level. When I purchased these, I thought they would have an amber, flame-like appearance, and they did initially but after a few minutes, they turned more white, but not the blinding white of the CFL's. They almost have a slight amber tint but not really noticeable unless you set them side by side with a "cool white" bulb. They are just a gentler white but do the job. We have a dining area that's about 16' x 16' and it's lit up perfectly. Of course, having 6 of these in the chandelier at 40 watts each helps but more important is the lumen output of 350 per light. I didn't realize that these were dimmable so I may replace my light switch with a dimmer for those "romantic" dinners. One thing I've learned is that all LED's are not alike, even in the same class. These run at about 75-78 degrees; I have other 40 watt LED's that run about 10 degrees warmer but still cooler than my CFL's that are close to 100 degrees. A lot of it has to do with the electronic design as well as whether there is a "shroud" at the base of the light ... these have no shroud so are better at dissipating the heat and should last longer, at least in theory. Time will tell I guess but for now, I'm satisfied with their performance. One other benefit is that they are the same height as the incandescent chandelier bulbs so there shouldn't be an issue with fitting these in standard fixtures. Finally, I paid full price for these and this is a legitimate review. At this price point and with Amazon's return policy, how can you go wrong?

Shock Hazard - Do Not Buy This Product
I haven't much experience with candelabra-style LED filament bulbs, but one thing they seem to have in common is what I'll call a "ring" at the base of the bulb glass, just above the socket threads (the necessary electronics are housed within, I presume). Observing the threaded base on these bulbs is extra long and protruded a bit from my shallow candelabra sockets, I dug out my old neon circuit tester and discovered that (a) the exposed bulb threads were "hot" when the fixture was turned on (which I expected) BUT, (b) so was the metal ring! Electrically live metal would be exposed even if I could fully screw in the threaded base. Somebody dusting the fixture with the lights on (my wife for instance) could get zapped. A close look at similar bulbs from a different manufacturer revealed their "rings" are plastic, and safe. I can't believe this product claims a UL rating. IMHO these bulbs are unsafe and shouldn't be sold, let along purchased. Needles to say, they're being returned.

The Good The Bad and The Warranty
I originally wrote.....These are just the right color for use in my courtyard and garage lights. I read the reviews and checked the price everywhere and found that these were the best deal for the money. I have in fact ordered two more sets (of six) today.UPDATE: The Good: as I mentioned before these lights are just the right color for my courtyard and garage walls I bought these in March of 17, and it's now November 17. The Bad: One bulb out of twelve (installed) has burnt out; however I live in Florida and they did survive Hurricane Irma. The Warranty: I remembered reading that these bulbs had a two year warranty, so I took a shot and sent a note to the seller; he almost immediately got back to me and said no problem I'm sending you a new bulb; five days later I had the new bulb no questions or returns asked. Nowadays no one wants to honor their warranty; well I'm here to say that this company stepped up to the plate.

Very strange - needs incandescent to work properly?
I have one 8-light chandelier, and another 4-light, both on a dimmer. In both cases, bulbs were extremely dim at full power, i.e. you can tell they're on, but they don't illuminate anything. I didn't know whether it was the dimmer or new light fixtures... so swapped a single bulb from each with an incandescent to test. Lo and behold- not only did the incandescent work perfectly as it is supposed to... but changing a single bulb out of 8, and a single of 4- ALL of these LED bulbs worked as described (60w equivalent, bright at full power and dimmed as desired).I swapped back in the final LED again, and all dim again. I cannot have 7 Edison LEDs (and 3 in the other), and one incandescent. It makes NO SENSE why these all work when there is a single incandescent in each fixture? I hate to repackage/return, guess my next step is to buy a similar, single LED Edison from a different manufacturer from each and hope? Aaargh. Price is right, and if they worked without the incandescent in the chain I'd rate these 5 star.

Don't waste your money: these burn out & flicker
Purchased in 2017 for the many chandeliers in our home. Though these do look beautiful when they are working, their longevity is laughable. I would be giving this product a 5 star rating if they lasted longer. We do not use these with a dimmer and use the light for 4-7 hrs (max) each night. HOWEVER, we have had 2 bulbs already burn out and a few of them now flickering. I wish I would've listened to the reviews warning me not to purchase these.LED 4 Watt Chandelier Candle Bulb UL Listed Dimmable Clear Flame Tip 40 Watt Equivalent E12 base Warm White 2700K-C32 Lamp New & Improved Anti-Shock PU Protective Ring At Base of Bulb Now Included !
