An interesting and complementary duo, worth trying at least once
I've purchased these two sauces for the second time just recently. I was amazed the first time, and the second time around I still am. My primary reason for purchasing these sauces was the rating. Second was the ingredients list. I usually don't care for sauces that aren't all natural or at least mostly natural, unless I just think they're irreplaceable. These two sauces in particular are natural from what I can tell.(not sure exactly what "food acids" or "vegetable gum" are, but they don't sound bad). Also, I was interested in how the Waha Wera sauce includes manuka honey and kiwifruit as ingredients. The Kaitaia Fire sauce didn't catch my attention at first, but I decided to give both sauces a go instead of just the Waha Wera.I'm glad I did. I use the Kaitaia Fire more than the Waha Wera, but that's not to say the Kaitaia Fire is better, it's just a little bit more of a normal tasting sauce. The Waha Wera sauce is sweet. The Kaitaia Fire has the customary vinegar base a lot of sauces have. I think it tastes very similarly to Tabasco sauce, except with slightly more of an apple cider vinegar taste, and definitely spicier. I like to use it on chips, for example. You could use the Waha Wera on chips, too, but it'd be a little weird to me with the sweet taste. Speaking of weird, I think the Waha Wera sauce is an excellent salad dressing. Call me crazy, but I tried it multiple times on my salad and loved it. It's interesting too, since it introduces that element of spiciness on a salad. I couldn't ever use the Kaitaia Fire as a salad dressing, however, that's why I say one sauce isn't really better than the other. It just depends on what you're using them on.Getting into the heat level, I'd say these sauces are definitely a lot hotter than your name brands you'd buy at a grocery store like Walmart, but they're not like your superhot killer sauces(Dave's Gourmet, Da Bomb, Blair's, Mad Dog, etc). To me, superhot sauces are the ones you can't casually eat and enjoy on some chips or a burrito. You have to use toothpicks or drops of the sauce to go in soups or something like that. I personally find the heat level almost perfect. I could eat these on a lot of things and go through them in 2-3 weeks, maybe a month. If you go through these sauces quicker than that, then you have to ask yourself if the price is worth it. Like I said, the Kaitaia Fire tastes like Tabasco sauce, yet Tabasco is way cheaper than this stuff. It's not the same exact taste or heat, but I could do with either sauce, while occasionally wanting the Kaitaia Fire. First time I bought the Kaitaia Fire I think it lasted a week, maybe longer? But that might just be me.Overall, I think these sauces are absolutely worth trying at least once.

Bottle arrived broken
I’ve ordered these sauces before and they are delicious. Unfortunately, one of the two bottles arrived broken. It cannot be returned because it is a food item, which I understand, but I am unable to request a replacement through the online communication methods offered by Amazon. I would give the Waha Wera sauce (the broken bottle) 4 stars based on past experience, and the Kaitaia sauce 5 stars, but Amazon gets 1 star this time for making it so difficult or impossible to get a free replacement for the broken bottle.

Super tasty. I'm a big fan of the Waha Wera!
I am a hot sauce fanatic. I had a bottle of the Waha Wera habanero and fruit years ago at a friend's homemade pizza party and have been looking for it ever since. I bought this two pack 2 months ago and both sauces were fantastic. The Kataia Fire is a traditional vinegar based sauce like Tuscan Sun, Tobasco, etc. The Waha Wera is pretty unique. Sweet and tasty. I'd put it in a similar category to Tiger sauce, but different in a great way. Definitely one for my collection. Both sauces are pretty hot compared to the local commercially bought "regulars", but not over the top to me. I've already gone through my whole Waha Wera bottle in the last 2 months since I got it and just bought a 3 pack from this same seller. The sell by date on the bottles were October of 2022, so plenty of time to enjoy them. I'd definitely recommend this for the hot sauce lover and thanks to The Importer for carrying this great product!

Good. Unique flavors.
I have tasted both and used the red fire a couple of times. Good flavors and a nice level of spicy. Not like some where one extra drop will be too hot, this is good with a few dashes for me and if you can take it more just keeps getting hotter. Overall a good choice.

Wonderful chile-based sauces that are genuinely different
Wonderful chile-based sauces that are genuinely different from any others - and I've tried a lot of 'em.The Kaitaia Fire sauce is a traditional chile-based sauce but they use some flavorful, fruity chiles that make this sauce stand out. Wonderful. The kiwi-fruit-based Waha Wera sauce is another winner - I'm not usually fond of hot sauces that use fruits other than the chiles themselves, but the kiwis add a unique flavor here and the honey brings a welcome smoothness - nice !!I'm so glad to have found these NZ sourced hot sauces available outside of NZ. And, yes, these are fairly hot as hot sauces go, not feeble "mild" sauce. Thanks !

It's quite vinegary so not that appealing to me will be better to use as a marinade instead of a dipping ...
It's an all right purchase it's not spicy. It's quite vinegary so not that appealing to me will be better to use as a marinade instead of a dipping sauce so I am a little disappointed in this purchase as I was expecting it to be hot there's not even a hint of spice to it would give it 5 Stars if it was hot the two star for the kiwi fruit sauce it's actually nice not spicy but a great marinade

Great Specialty Hot Sauces from New Zealand
I have't opened these yet. But we sold these items in our specialty food shop in Russell, New Zealand when we lived there a few years ago. They are great. Made from products grown in New Zealand and specific to New Zealand. I'm so excited to have them available here. I was given a bottle of Kaitaia Fire 4 years ago and have made it last all that time. Now I can enjoy both products whenever I want without worry of running out. They are my favorite because they have great flavor and aren't so spicy that my taste buds are numbed.
