A very good STEM learning kit for Arduino and ESP32
This is a great starter STEM kit. I would recommend learning the difference between Arduino and ESP32 before ordering it. It will make things much easier later on. This kit inspires creativity in trying new things and combining lessons. I had a lot of fun going through all of the lessons twice and showing my family.

Missing most of the instructions
The kit only includes the instructions on how to assemble the house. It doesn’t include any instructions on how to do the wiring. You have to go online or figure that out on your own. The wiring instructions I could find online don’t match up with how the instructions in the box are set up.

Fun, Once You Get it Working!
I’m editing my review, since I really like it after getting it all working. A representative from the company contacted me via Amazon messages and helped me get it working after they read my original review. It’s important to note that you must use “Blynk (Legacy)” and set up a local server on a computer at your home before you can do anything with this kit. If the house cannot connect to local Blynk server, nothing will work. You also need to make sure that the jumper settings on the Arduino shield are properly set in order to get WiFi to work. Once you have these things properly configured, everything will work well. After everything is set up, you will still need to edit four things in each tutorial code:1) Your Blynk authentication code2) Your local Blync server IP address3) Your WiFi name4) Your WiFi passwordI think that part of my initial problems was that I have a lot of things running on my computer and there were some conflicts. Once I installed Java and the Blynk Legacy server software on a new computer, everything worked well.Going through the tutorials with my son was a lot of fun, since he’s started fooling around with Arduino projects. This is a lot more fun than just placing components on a breadboard. We went through the whole thing in a few hours. Now that I’ve seen this in action, I can recommend it for beginners, but I still think it would be better if all of the requirements were all in one easy-to-find place on the website.(Original Review)I’m kind of conflicted with this kit. On one hand, it’s very cool, fun to build, and comes with a lot of components, but on the other hand, it’s difficult to get working. This isn’t the first kit that I’ve gotten, and I’ve got some experience with Arduino projects, but this one was by far the most difficult to get results.I get that there are frequent changes with something like this as the software gets updated after the product is designed and the instructions are written, but this kit was particularly bad. Part of the problem may be that I was using an Arduino installation on my computer that was already being used, so none of the tutorial code would compile due to library conflicts. I may have had better luck using a fresh installation.I hadn’t used Blynk before, but none of the tutorial instructions matched what I see on my interface. I believe Blynk has been upgraded to a new version, so nothing worked at all. I spent a lot of time even trying to get the board to connect to WiFi since the tutorial code seems to be set up for the older Blynk version.I really like the kit hardware, and it’s got everything that you could want, but you’re going to need to spend a lot of time figuring out how to edit your code just to get things to work. This could have been solved if they would have included a software package that had everything that you needed in a stable, fixed state as a one-time installation. Instead, you end up getting the latest versions of everything, which have changes that break the tutorial code.It would also be nice if they included code that allowed you to test everything at once instead of needing to connect to Blynk and build an interface piece-by-piece by going through each lesson in order.I like the kit, but I can’t recommend it as something for beginners to try to learn with.

this is a great learning resource for IOT but you have to do some work
This IOT house model is a great idea. It contains all the parts you would need to study how to setup a real house with IOT using Blynk. The IOT house itself is fairly straightforward to build, and is rather fun to build also, setting up Blynk, however, requires some work, but is well worth the effort in the end. I had to contact customer support to find out that this product uses the legacy version of the Blynk app. This version of the Blynk app can no longer be signed up for but you can make a local server using Java on your local machine. This method works quite well and is fairly easy to accomplish although it would help if the manufacturer updated their site with better instructions and had them all in the same place! All, I all, while getting Blynk going was tough, the feeling of success I get from getting the red light to turn on, (lesson 2-1) was a great feeling. I look forward to experimenting with this IOT house to learn more about the world of smart homes and the internet of things.

fun
I love tech, and recently got an arduino based device to play with. This allows me to learn how tow ork with it and see the kinds of things you can do.It makes it easy to learn and holds your hand through the project.Love how you can use this to create an example of home automation.I love using tech to control things in my home, and this allows me to see how arduino can help to get that done.
