Great start to an intriguing MC series
Dex has spend the last 13 years of his life in prison for a crime he did not commit. He has lost everything. With the help of his daugher he is exonerated. Now, he is out again and back into a world that has completely changed. ..including the woman he drove away and left behind.Ava was heartbroken when he pushed her away. She has been through a lot in the last 13 years and she is not the same woman she used to be. Her life has not been on hold.Dex is determined to have her back and he is willing to fight for her. He doesnt want to waste anymore time. But hard will he have to fight to get back in her good graces ??I enjoyed this story and I liked the MC’s though I have to say that Ava annoyed me a bit at times. It annoys me when women think one thing and then do the exact opposite. I guess she was just a bit in denial about her feelings for Dex.One thing is for sure though….these two definitely set the sheets on fire !!I was very intrigued by this first book ;)

4 Biker Happy Place Stars
It’s a good feeling when I dive into a biker book and am pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. There are a lot of less than stellar biker books out there that I end up wading through to find one that makes it all worth it. Dex was one of those good ones that put a smile on my face.Wrongly imprisoned, he lost everything. He’s out now, completely exonerated, which is something he thought would never happen. Dex had every reason to come out one huge ball of rage and he was definitely angry, but it was a controlled emotion that he kept in check. The world as he knew it has completely changed, especially the woman he left behind after forcing her away. No matter how much he cared for her, he was bound and determined to do what was best for Ava and if that meant leaving her alone he would. This is the kind of alpha male I can get behind.Ava was strong, but in moving on she’s faced a few nightmares of her own. She shattered when he forced her away so she made some drastic life choices. A veteran now, she is completely changed from the woman she once was and she’s not sure she wants to go back to him. She’s still in love with Dex, but with everything that’s happened along with all that’s swirling around the club, she’s not sure love is enough.I loved the feelings that this book explored, especially when it showcased how Dex felt about being out of the loop for so long. All the sorrow and anger at everything he’d missed and all he could have been if he hadn’t been derailed for 13 years. Both Dex and Ava had the world shift on its axis when Dex got sent away, and they still hadn’t found their footing. The human reactions that Dex and Ava had as they flailed around not sure about each other gave the book a more realistic feel than you get in a lot of biker books. I liked that it acknowledged that even with a healthy dose of love and caring, you still have to make sure a relationship is right before diving back in.A great story with side characters I want to know more about mean I will be reading on in this series. What I Loved:Ava and DexSly and his willingness to lay it out how much he missed Dex and needed his guidance. What I Struggled With:Plot holes in how Dex was originally taken down for something he didn’t do.The Chris thing seemed contrived.

Justice or injustice?
As an MC read, the story is weak, and not really focused on the workings and machinations of the MC. It is however focused on Dex’s imprisonment and release, thanks to his daughter’s diligence. I was chagrined that the daughter responsible for his release was only lightly mentioned in the story. She is a central character, like it or not. Ava, on the other hand gets women’s top billing, and she’s not a very likable character as portrayed by the author. Overall, the central theme is sound but the execution of the story leaves much to be desired.

Needed more action and less talk.
Dex: MC Biker Romance (Great Wolves Motorcycle Club Book 1)5 notes & 5 highlights (All visible)This one disappointed me.It was well written with no error's of any kind, but.....It was very slow moving. The descriptions tended to be repetitive and over done a bit.The story needed more action and less talk.Overall, it was a pretty good story and worth reading. I liked all the characters and loved the both main characters. If the repetitive parts and the over done descriptions of non-essential detail had been removed I would have given at least 4 stars. If those parts had been used to increase the action, suspense and tensions it may have made it to 5 stars.READING PROGRESSJanuary 27, 2018 – Started ReadingFebruary 6, 2018 – page 65 23.55% "I'm not giving this story a fair shake. I'm just not in the mood for this type of story. It is a little bit slow, but mostly the problem is me. I know if I was in the right mood I would be enjoying it more. So, to do the story justice, I am once again setting it aside for a couple of days."February 15, 2018 – Finished Reading

Boring and one dimensional
This books reads like the author wanted to write about bikers but was unwilling to commit to the genre. We get guys on motorcycles, an H who has been to prison, a little violence, a lot of sex. But it was all too pat and a little too sweet, including bikers who tear up at the drop of a hat. The H's daughter was the entirely responsible for his release from prison, and he knows it, and yet she never appears in the book apart from a couple of comments made in passing. We never meet her, and although he is out six weeks he never goes to see her, nor calls or even texts with her. We get hints of danger, dark emotions, and bad things that happened, but all very surface explorations which result iin one dimensional characters and plot. I don't think this book can be considered biker light, but it's not truly MC, either, because the author shied away from the gritty and raw storytelling that readers look for in MC books. Overall that lack of commitment to the genre resulted in a flat, boring read.

How did I finish it?!
Two stars- simply for the fact it must've been ok enough for me to finish it ( although I stopped at one point , as I thought this plot is going nowhere , I then realised I was already 3/4 of the way through - so I may as well finish it!) I thought the plot was building then I realised that there wasn't really a plot, truly I was very disappointed, I haven't read a book this boring or mundane for along time.... The only thing which was decent was a couple of characters - further developed, they could be good . I wouldn't read any books by this author again, or recommend her- I didn't pay much attention to the last 20% to be honest. Iv read some poor, fair, good & absolutely fantastic novels over the past few months & unfortunately ,apart from the ones I put down without finishing, due to them being terrible, this has to be one of the worst Iv actually managed to get through , hoping it may improve as the start seemed promising and the writing fairly fluid & I guess I was disappointed that this didn't live up to what I'd hoped it to be, which is a shame. I think this could have been an ok(ish!) novel had the characters been further developed & the plot deeper- as at the beginning it did seem promising, as I mentioned earlier- I'm not sure where it went wayward....! It was repetitive, had no main plot, no twists or turns, I'm not sure what you would call it, it doesn't seem to fit erotica, thriller ... Not impressed, and am being generous with the two stars! However, I finished it, just!

WHAT A GREAT READ FOR A FREE MC BOOK!!
Mostly free books are pretty hit & miss. Either a horrible mish-mash of bad spelling, worse grammar and non-existent punctuation or proof reading. Or, no more than short stories that only serve to make sure you won't ever try another book by that author. And then there's the big surprise, a shining star just waiting to be discovered like this one.DEX is a well written story about the White Wolves MC. A club who have been battling for years to get away from the illegal stuff like Drugs & Guns and who have been fighting to take their place running only legit businesses. 13 years ago a young Dex was completely set up by the Mob Boss the club were tied up by and was sent to jail for life. Now, because of efforts by his daughter the evidence that shows him as completely innocent has been brought to light and despite thinking he was going to live the rest of his life behind bars he finds himself exonerated, charges dropped and sentence wiped, a free man! There's just the small matter of losing the last 13 years of his life, his daughter was just 10 years old when he was sent down, now she's a young woman of 23 who went to extraordinary lengths to gain access to the material that proved how he was set up. The club he's been a member of forever have moved on leaps and bounds. And then there's the woman he loved with everything in him. This is the first in a series and was good enough to persuade me to buy the next one and to look at the other series' she has written. If you like your MC's to be more than Alpha males strutting and increasingly bizarre sex, then I think you too will enjoy this book. It's got structure, an intricate enough storyline to be interesting and opens the door for other White Wolves chapters and their members. People well written enough that you can feel connected and care about.A lovely, unexpected but highly polished gem of a book, I happily recommend.

3.5* Enjoyable read.
The cover caught my attention first, let's face it it's a great cover then I read the blurb and then checked the price, the blurb was good and it was free.My only issue and the reason I delayed reading for a while was the thirteen year gap I thought it might be too for me.I kept coming back to this book and couldn't make my mind up about reading it so I decided to skim the first couple of pages and decide if it was a keeper, if so it would go on my to-read list but before I knew it I was well into the book and totally engrossed. The book opens with Dex returning home after thirteen years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, life has moved on without him and it's now up to him to find his place again. It's hard to imagine losing so much time and having to pick back up and I really felt for him while he's left playing catch-up.I thought Dex was a fabulous character, hot and sexy, intelligent and he isn't scared by his feelings and those feelings are for Ava, he loved her with all his heart but he was looking at life inside and so he cut her loose but now he's free and those feelings are still there but Ava's had thirteen years to move on with her life.Ava, I had mixed feelings on Ava, I loved that she was strong and independent and I understand how she lost everything last time she took a chance on Dex but honestly she comes alive when he's close and feelings like that can't be ignored and so her indecision annoyed me also the fact she'd given up on him so easily before, ok not easily I know she'd suffered.I enjoyed this book so why only 3.5 stars? If I'm being totally honest it goes as expected, there's no real surprises and I did find Ava annoying at times.

A good read
I am a definite fan of MC romances, where I enjoy the softer side of a lifestyle which would, in reality, be anathema to me. The attraction of dark and dangerous men from an armchair is irresistible and the (usually) feminine idealistic writing, which makes the characters what most of us find appealing, is what keeps me coming back, author by author, book by book. This series is one I will definitely continue with. This first book is smoothly flowing and carries you with it to the satisfying conclusion required. It is sexy without being crass or overdone and ticks all the boxes demanded by the genre formula. When I want violence, I'll watch SOA; this genre is my go-to comfort blanket for those other times. Well done so far, Jayne Blue.

Loved this story!!
After Dex is sent to prison for a crime he did not commit, he lost more than just his freedom, as he lost the love of his life Ava, and watching his little girl grow up. After 13 years he is suddenly released, and is on a major revenge mission against the guy that set him up, and to get his family back.I love MC stories, and this one is certainly no different. Jayne has done an awesome job in writing this storyline, and she had me hooked and intrigued from the very beginning. I recommend this authors work for all MC lovers, and I cannot wait to read more in this fantastic series.

Coming home
Dex is fresh out of prison after 13 years. He gave up everything for his club including the love of his life Ava. She had to start over when he left and the army was that. Ava is a nurse and one night their paths cross. This is a brilliant read.

Hot & heavy with a great story!
Great book, great characters. Not as intense as some MC books which I loved. The story and strength of the MC wasn't lost in the telling which was also great. Super strong characters. Great writing. Beautiful love story.

Giod story but the ending was a bit rushed

Bloody
Enjoyable read, bloody throughout what with shootings, stabbings and the ER.Very easy to read and follow. Characters are quick and easy to like and that always helps the story.
