Unusual use -- applying stain to spaces between boards in outdoor deck
Our deck has boards spaced about 1/2" apart, and we were staining them a noticeable color difference. It was taking forever to get a brush down into the gap between the boards, paint the side of one board, then turn around and paint the side of the other that form the same gap. So I ordered a set of these daubers, remembering them from use with shoe edging. They work well. The wool holds more stain than a brush, and they get both sides of the crevice at once. (Which is the main value of using them. It takes half the time.) For this purpose it would be nice if they were long like corn on the cob instead of round like a pompom, but it's still faster. We each had a paper cup full of stain and a handful of daubers, and we raced through the job.

Great quality and great price
These are as good as the wool daubers I've bought at Tandy. They are soft and have no hard pieces or debris stuck in the wool. I've never had the metal end poke through the wool. They operate as expected with my leather dyes. They do leave a bit of lint behind, but nothing that gets stuck to the leather - I can brush it off easily after the dye dries. I've used these with Eco-Flo and Waterstain dyes, on the grain and flesh sides. I have no complaints. Great quality, great price, and I'll buy these again when I use up the current set.

Great for applying products exactly where wanted
I’ve used these for applying leather dye.I’ve also used these for applying products to bottom of horse hooves, and spraying wound medication on to dauber then applying to skin.

Excellent quality daubers
I’ve been a leathercrafter for over 20 years and I’ve used daubers purchased from various well-known leather supply companies. This time I thought I’d try these since I was placing an order anyhow. I’m glad I gave them a try because they are better quality and a better value. The daubers were exactly as described and as you can see from the photo, they have a much more generous ball of wool. They shed very little and spread dye and finishes well. I’ll be getting more of these when I need them.

Great value
I use these for leather dye and was a bit hesitant they were going to shed all over the place when I saw the price - but I was pleasantly surprised to see that these were every bit as good (if not better) than the big leather store brand.
