Starts out great, but this is really made for dogs that are already not very active
I have been quite impressed with the performance of these collars. I love being able to let my dogs run freely (in the yard, of course) without being tied down by chains or leashes. My dogs are already pretty well behaved, but they sometimes need to be reminded to stay away from the street or to not bark (especially when I take them out late at night). Let me just say that I have had to use the shock feature and I realized that it's not quite like other collars I've had before. The last one was a nightmare of an experience with the PetTrainer brand. It goes from 1 to 100. This one goes from 1 to 10. Take my advice and start on 2 or 3 with this device; you won't need much more than that to get their attention. However, the beeping and the buzzing does the job 99% of the time. The devices are all well made, and unlike other collars, these will not just fall off. Really, they can't. The straps are soft and comfortable on the dogs and quite tough and resistant to staining and they don't hold in water. The controller is easy to hold, the buttons are easy to use and don't feel like they're going to break or collapse into the remote, and the settings feature is easy to work through. It's so easy to control all three dogs with very little effort as the collars vibrate as soon as you press the button for that collar.I charged the collars before using them and they have lasted for about 2 entire weeks now with no recharge. As I mentioned, I don't often have to shock them, so that may be why the batteries last a lot longer than what they are expected to last. I haven't yet had a chance to take them to the parks or anywhere yet with these collars, but I've had no issues with the controller working through the walls or even through the entire house to the opposite side of the yard.Update after 6 months of useWell, these started out great, but about a month ago, on collar developed a crack on the front cover and it just fell off. Around the same time, one of the other collars showed no physical damage, but everything except the beep stopped working. All of the letters and labels on the remote have faded away, as expected, and the straps to the collars are fraying. This is odd considering they're covered in plastic material. The plastic on the collar components themselves seem to be dryrotten as they are crumbling around the screws that hold the cover on. The little green sticker over the power button is long gone. This set still lasted longer than the last one, but still... I won't purchase anything from this company again.

Great Units
Great units.Pros:* They hold an excellent charge so far.* Great distance range for the remote and collars.* Great configuration options in the remote for each collar.Areas Needing Improvement:* Remote is sluggish to power on.* The collar units come with metal contacts in 2 different lengths. It would be helpful if they had a mid size contact set as well. Currently there is a very short set and a very log set.* Charging cord needs 3 extensions instead of 2 so that you can charge all of the units at the same time.

Don't do IT!
Well this has been a bust and a total waste of money. When I originally setup the collars only one of them worked on the ZAP setting but I was ok with that because I only use the vibrate. So last week the lights started blinking on and off and no signal was being sent to the collars. Battery was at 1/4 full so yesterday I decided to change the battery in the hope the hand held controller would work. Once the battery was replaced the buttons wouldn't even switch to another setting and it wouldn't even shut off once turned on. I removed and reseated the battery several times got it to vibrate each collar, but this morning on our hike the hand held died again. Great concept too bad you can't make it work longer than the life of one battery.I'm updating this review - upon leaving the poor review, the seller promptly contacted me and is offering me a new remote with an extra charger. Once I get the new remote and see how it works I'll potentially update this review further. Stay tuned......

Exceptional product - VERY happy! Trains FAST!
This product helped us dodge an expensive bullet, as we were seriously considering spending over $1600 for a week's worth of in-house obedience training for one of our 6-month old mini Aussie pups. After driving all the way to Austin to check out the board and train facility and then coming home to think about it, we decided to try a training collar first, and are so glad we did. After looking several over on Amazon, I selected Koolkani for the following features: they offer a 3 collar system (each dog has their own color); the remote has an attractive, easy to use bank of buttons on the front (instead of on the sides) that easily allows us to switch between dogs; it has a hefty 650 yard distance range, AND most importantly, we don't have to "stimulate" our dogs every time we teach or give a direction, we can also select an auditory sound or vibrate, which is mostly all we use. On top of that, each dog has its own level, which we found is a must. We got the system last Friday and already our dogs come on command, sit, get down, go lay down, and no longer try to get into each other's food bowls. We have lots of other things to work on, but already this training system is exactly what we needed, without spending a fortune. I only wish we had this for our other 3 adult Aussies when they were younger! Yes, we have six dogs ;-)
