Extremely dull
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. The quality of the packaging - and the idea in general - are great. But this appears to be intended for animals that have extremely thin fur.I have an English Labrodoodle that hates being groomed so I've been using hair scissors that come in most electric razor packages. Those scissors work great at cutting his fur, but it looks really choppy when I'm done so the idea of having guards on the scissors sounded great. But unfortunately, the scissors are so incredibly dull, they would only cut if you held them at the perfect angle, and even then it would only trim a very small section of hair. These appear to be a good quality item, well constructed and well built. But unless your pet has very fine hair that only requires minor trimming, skip out on these and get some real pet hair scissors.

No More Terror
I don’t write reviews. But given the impact this product has had on our lives I really must write this one. My wife and I have a miniature Schnauzer. He was nine months old when we got him, just days before covid shut the world down. Though we didn’t realize it when we picked him up, he had been severely neglected and mistreated during his first nine months of life. He was so malnourished, even though he was full grown he weighed just nine pounds and his little ribs were clearly visible through his fur. And every few nights after we brought him home he would wake up screaming in fear and I would have to pick him up and hold him tight for several minutes until he could fully wake up from the night terror and remember he was safe. Within just a few days of life with us he discovered that he was absolutely safe and loved in his new home. He gained more than five pounds in the first two months and the night terrors have become far more infrequent. But new people and new situations still instantly trigger those intense fear responses within him, though we didn’t realize how intense that fear was until we took him in to have his fur groomed. The groomer seemed nice, but Buddy was so frightened when I handed him off to her that his entire body was shaking. And when I picked him up several hours latter the groomer told me his terror level became so intense after I left that they had to muzzle him and secure him firmly to complete the haircut. She had badly cut his ear in the process and blood kept oozing from the wound for several days. Nearly a week later we happened to drive by the dog groomer and when Buddy saw it through the car window he instantly began to shake in terror.Obviously my wife and I vowed we would never again risk taking him to a professional groomer which meant we needed to learn how to cut his fur ourselves. We purchased what looked like a good electric trimmer which received high marks for how quiet it was. But the instant Buddy heard that noise all the terror returned. Then we found the Scaredy Cut on Amazon and, in desperation decided to give it a try. And we are so grateful we did. It’s not a fast process and, at least for now, we just clip away on him for maybe five minutes each evening. We are learning and so is Buddy, but he has no fear whatsoever and we are able to keep his fur nice and short. He gets lots of little treats in the process and doesn’t even know I’m cutting his hair. It doesn’t take his fur down real close like the groomer does, but we never liked that look for our little dog. We could not be more pleased.

Great concept, unfortunately a pain.
This is a great concept however it’s kinda chintzy, it took a minute to get it to work being that the scissors were not right, they weren’t cutting so I adjusted the screw, it gets pretty exhausting because the screw has to be so tight that it’s hard to open and close the scissors to get it to make contact and a smooth cut, they are sharp but when using the combs it’s not really that easy to use. Maybe with a couple of modifications this would be great. I was soooo hoping it’d work.

Scaredy Cut is Perfect
Scaredy Cut is as advertised. Good quality and easy to use. Scaredy Cut stands behind their product offering replacement if needed, help with the product if any issues arise and even added they would accept return if necessary. I am so happy with how it is so easy to use and my dog is even thrilled. Thank you!!!!! ps; couldn't recall if I had sent a review last May. This may be my second review.

These scissors work great on my shaggy dog!
It took me a moment to get used to them. For a moment, they seemed awkward, even though I understood the instructions. And at the very beginning, once or twice, they didn't cut (I now understand the angle). But less than 5 minutes, I understood how they feel, and they work great!!! I trimmed the long, feathery bits from the back of my shaggy dog's legs. My dog doesn't enjoy brushing, cooperating with grooming, etc. He didn't mind, and now he's not collecting burs and foxtails on his legs. Next step: a trim over the whole dog for a "summer cut."These scissors are worth every penny that I spent and will save me the money and time of taking my dog to a groomer.

I had some bad results with a dull blade and wrote a low ...
I ordered a left handed grooming kit along with small Tiny Trim scissors to groom my Cavachon a few months ago. I had some bad results with a dull blade and wrote a low scoring review. Matthew, the owner. contacted me and sent a new pair of left handed scissors. I had to wait for a while as I had taken my dog to groomer for a summer cut. Her hair had grown in and I have now tried the new scissors and she ended up with a pretty good hair cut. This is a good company and a good product. Pet ownership is expensive and using the Scaredy Cut helps with defraying the cost of grooming with a pretty good home hair cut, Thanks Matthew!!!

Difficult to use for this lefthander!!!
This is for lefthanders that write upside down. I couldn't figure out how to use these with the way I hold them. I tried and tried. Couldn't use them.

Highly recommended
I use these a lot in between trims. You can't go wrong as the guides only let you cut to a certain length. My dog is very curly (poodle bichon) and his fur grows quickly so I tidy him up with these and he doesn't mind as they are quiet.I have recommended them to a lot of people.

Doesn't quite work
Great idea but hair doesn't actually cut with the scissors the guard attaches to.I used the guard separately with the safety scissors that are included in pack , using the idea of what it was menat to do.Any guard with scissors on top will do the job . Shame as I wanted ease

No good for my cat
I am sure this would work on dogs and some animals but my cat still found it unsettling so can't really use it

I'm not happy and will be sending them back
the blades seem to be a quite blunt already after 2 uses and they are a bit awkward to use. I'm not happy and will be sending them back.

Useless Blunt Blades
These scissors don't even cut my dog's hair, they just bend it; they are totally blunt. Returning them for a refund.
