Firefall / Luna Sea / Elan

I hope this is a future trend in the reissuing of great music because this edition of three good Firefall albums is wonderful! If you have tried collecting pre-CD albums you no doubt know that "digitally remastered" can mean different things and the only way to know if one is really good or not is to hear it for your self or have some one else tell you from their own experience. I am here to tell you that this great collection should not disappoint but rather delight any Firefall fan who wants the convenience of digital and the warmth and depth of analog. I have these albums on vinyl and the remastering here is comparable to the rich sound in the original grooves. There are so many remastered works of great music out there that are almost ruined by tinny sounding, over-compressed digital conversion practices. It is so refreshing to find a really expertly done remastering that respects the music on occasion and this is one of those times. Of course the music contained here is superb- FIrefall was known as a top forty radio band but here is a talented bunch of musicians and song writers with all the skills and abilities of groups like the Eagles and these albums demonstrate that. It all comes down to a matter of individual tastes but if you check out the resume for the band members you will find quite an impressive story there which by the way is contained in the booklet that comes with this set. But the real proof is in the music. Get this two disc set- it is risk free!

This was one of my favorite Country Rock bands during my college days. I had not listened to them in decades but to find their first 3 albums remastered at such a great price I simply couldn't pass them up. The best part is they never sounded better. I recommend this CD Set and now I am debating if I should buy the last 3 album set since I enjoyed this one so much.

This set are Firefall's best albums, they all charted (#28, #11, #11) and contained their first single ("Livin' Ain't Livin'") first top Forty single/ Top 10 single ("You Are the Woman" #9, #6 A/C) #1 single ("Just Remember I Love You" #1A/C), platinum album ('Elan). This set includes their first 7 singles (previously mentioned songs,plus "Cinderella", "So Long", "Goodbye, I Love You" and "Strange Way") Firefall put out three great albums before the "business" of the "music business" got to them. Other than splitting up "Luna Sea" between the 2 disc the sound is impressive, compare to the sound of the 95' single disc remastered 'Elan, that was very good. This set could be better but I don't know what "masters tapes" were used, but they sound great! All albums sound great, it's to have these album to play again.

They were a very good rock-folk combo, scoring hits regularly, and admit it, Cinderella and Strange Way--and many fine deep cuts--haven't been run into a rut on classic rock radio. Any 70s-head wanting to add to their Sat BBQ & beer playlist should invest...

Great compilation of this band's first three albums on two CDs. Showcases the writing of ex-Flying Burrito Rick Roberts, ex-Zephyr member Jock Bartley, DC singer-songwriter Larry Burnett, along with ex-Byrd & Burrito Michael Clarke, ex-Spirit bassman Mark Andes, and multi-instrumentalist David Muse. Top-notch songwriting all around, even on the songs that weren't mega hits, as well as good production values. The digital re-mastering keeps everything intact, so if you enjoyed the band in the 70's & 80's, you'll love this collection, and the BGO compilation that has their last big 3 albums ( again on 2 CDs.).

Didn't like the way they split 1of the CDs 1/2 on one disc 1/2 on the other

Loved that 3 albums were included in the set.

I bought this because I enjoyed listening to this band back in the day. I have the albums but over the years they just are kinda worn. On my system theses CD s sound good and I would recommend to anyone who like this band!

c'est coffret de 2cd regroupant les trois premiers albums de FIREFALL: Firefall, Luna Sea et Elan. Ce sont très bons albums de grands artistes américains des années west coast 70.

Ex members from Flying Burritos, Rick Roberts and Michael Clarke (also ex Byrds) did form this group. Here are the three first albums from them. The music is in the same vain as The Eagles. Skilled musicians making good music. Excellent sound quality also. I can recommended this if you like country rock!
