Myrtle belongs to the same family as tea tree and eucalyptus. All three are very similar; in fact, the scent of Myrtle Oil is much like eucalyptus, giving off a mixed fragrance of evergreen and frankincense. Today, myrtle oil is most commonly known for its help with skin health and respiratory ailments. That is not everything it can do, however. How to Use: Because of its major use with the skin, always be careful with applying the oil directly. If you have sensitive skin, make sure to dilute it with another type of oil or lotion. With respiratory ailments, put a couple of drops in an essential oil diffuser and keep it by you day and night. Breathing in the oil continuously will have the best effect, and also help you sleep better at night, resulting in a quicker recovery.
