Thread Kits (1221-305 Thread Repair Kit

The threads in the bolt hole on my alternator was stripped and it caused the bolt to come loose while I was driving. This caused some damage to my drive belts. I was looking into various methods of thread repairs and chose this Perma-Coil Thread Repair Kit because it was simple to do and the hole did not need to be drilled out excessively as a time-sert repair kit. I just drill into the hole, tap the threads, insert the coil with the included special tool and I was done. I also applied some blue threadlock solution to prevent the bolt from coming loose again for good measure. This repair kit did it's job well so I am happy with the results.

I broke a bolt off in an aluminum super charger on an 03 cobra.Once I drilled out the hole with a 13/64 titanium bit.I used the guide to put the new thread in the newly tap hole. The only thing I would say is the tool used to grab the tang on the thread would probably be better if it had a slit through it instead of being recessed on one side.the first try I failed the tang broke off. The second time was successful. Worked great and allowed me to finish my project.

I was able to repair the threads I was working one. I repaired two thread but went through about 6 of the helicoils before I was able to get them to work. some of the helicoils would get stuck and wouldn't make it all the way down. after multiple attempts they finally worked.

Used this kit to fix stripped out threads for the muffler bolts on my chainsaw. Worked perfectly; my saw is better than new.

I work on Porsche cars and Small Engines, They have aluminum engines and other parts and will get stripped threads no doubt, These and other sizes are a must and actually make the threaded connection stronger, And it is definately better than buying a new part or welding it then drilling and tapping. But when tapping in aluminum you have to use an anti-seize compound on the tap or you take a big chance on hanging up and possibly breaking it in the hole (big problem). These are the best I've used and is very easy to do. Great Product.

I needed to repair thread in my bike frame. The hole was very worn out, and the outer part was wider than the required diameter. Nevertheless, the thread repair kit worked. I added loctite for extra security, and it still holds well after 1000 miles.

Used this to fix stripped exhaust threads on my Stihl 028. Super easy to use, in about 10 minutes I had the muffler remounted and it has not gone anywhere. Would not hesitate to use this again.

I work on fishing reels and salt water and stainless and aluminum don't like each other. I am forced to break and then rethread screw holes. Sometimes I can't get it absolutely straight and have to over bore. On motorcycles, it is easy to strip threads on some parts. This kit works a treat.
