(1221-306 Thread Repair Kit

It works well. I used it to rethread a stripped out brake mounting boss. The instructions, especially in regard to using the prewinder could be much better. What annoys me is that it doesn't come with a few different lengths of insert. As far as how durable the tap is, I have no idea since I only used it once on magnesium. For the reviews complaining about it wearing out, I wonder if they used any kind of cutting oil.

Worked great and way cheaper than helicoil brand. Use to fix stripped valve cover threads. Couldn’t get it started using the blue thing but it went right in with out it just using the black part. I don’t know if it was just me or the tool. But yeah saved me big time and torque to spec. I haven’t used the red t handle ones on amazon but judging from the pictures and reviews if you don’t want to spend the $ on name brand these are the ones you want.

Worked like a charm. The insertion tool was pretty badly molded however, as the coil would easily get stuck in the tip, at least until I cleaned up the mold flash. Otherwise though, great fix for some stripped threads in an aluminum head!

There isn't much to say about this kit - it delivers exactly what is promised - easy, permanent thread repair.

Tool wore out after about 12 helicoils. Thead went and you couldn't screw them in.

Worked great for repairing stripped threads in an aluminum mower engine case.
