Smooth Edge Automatic Electric Can Opener, BangRui Restaurant Can Opener for Seniors Arthritis

My osteoarthritis makes it too painful to use a hand operated can opener any more. I have never liked the counter top electric can openers. I saw a similar one of these at someone's home and decided I needed one. I did a lot of reading of reviews and learned generally these probably won't hold up well but they do what they are meant to do in the meantime and this brand seemed to have the best reviews for operation and longevity, I bought the extended warranty to be on the safe side, which is a rarity for me. I've used this several times and I love it. Set it on the can, push the button and away it goes. It may have to go around the can more than once so just leave it alone until it comes to a halt. Then grab it and lift the front end first and the can lid will lift off with the magnet--most of the time--there seems to be a bit of an art to that part. The can lid is cut off in such a way you can place it back on the can and it seals for storage in the fridge. I really loved using it. It did begin to malfunction after a little over a year but kept working for a few more months then I used the insurance policy to obtain another one. The replacement quit after 6 months, new batteries, just stopped attached to a can, won't come off, guess I'll throw the whole thing away.

I ordered this can opener to replace an older one touch can opener that no longer works. I liked the small size and that it fits in a drawer. However, it does not open cans on the first try. I used it on 3 different size cans. It took 3 tries a least on each can. I could have opened them faster with my manual can opener. When I opened the box the turning mechanism was bent to one side. I was not sure if that was normal. Perhaps that is why it did not open the cans. I returned the opener and did not request a replacement.

If you've got all day to open a can, it eventually works. Took more than 8 minutes to open three different sized cans. Just goes around and around and doesn't open the can until it finally does. Don't waste your time.

I read the directions and inserted fresh batteries. The can opener worked, but it was loud and sometimes made a loud screeching sound. I also had to hit the button to restart it because it did not make it all that way around the lid of the bulk-size can. This did not work for me, so I returned it.

This thing is an awesome product. I purchased this item roughly a year ago for my wife, and she loves it ! She has opened all different sizes with absolutely no problems. I don't try to open cans with pull tabs, why would I do that when I can pull the tab? The only issue that could possibly confuse anyone is that when the can opener finishes, it backs up a tad as it disengages from the opening process and so you can then lift it off. Now, it cuts the can so precise that it looks as though it has done nothing until you lift the cans edge in an upward motion and realize the cans lid lifts off and it can be placed back on the can for storage.

one of the best inventions ever. Better than sliced white bread!! Opens the cans by cutting the lid at the seam at the top where the top and the side meet, but it cuts it in the center of that so there is no sharp edge. You could almost glue the top back on and hide something in the can.and people would not be able to tell. One minor problem you usually have to remove the lid from the can because the magnet is not that strong..

I love this product. Having a little arthritis in my thumb sometimes made it difficult to twist a can opener. I still haven't conquered it to lift the lid with the magnet but the lid lifts easily by hand. It works great and so much better than a manual one. It is compact so sits in a drawer easily. I don't like things on my counters so this was the perfect answer. Highly recommend this can opener.

I bought this can opener with a friends recomendation as they just love theirs. However I am not happy about this product as I have had difficulty with successfully opening cans all the way. I mean it requires that I finish the process with my old hand held opener.Either this particular one is faulty or I am not applying it correctly. However If the later is true why does it cut part of the can and not all of it.Harvey Howard
