Yes it is. We only use hard coated Lexan for our windshields. Scratch-resistant is the only way to go.

will this work with side mirrors? Any suggestions of mirrors that fit with the windhsheild closed?

This works with the vast majority of side mirrors on the market. The only side mirrors we would recommend you avoid are those with big, bulky clamps. We've seen a few with clamps so big they require notches to be cut in the windshield.

What is the trick to get the bolt that go through the hinges tight on the window

You will have 12 rubber gaskets to go between the hinges and the polycarbonate. You will want 1 on each side of the poly for the top and bottom portions of the windshield. 2x3 (Front and Back) for the Top and 2x3 (Front and Back) for the Bottom. This will provide a nice, snug fit.
