Tellurium is a chemical element with symbol Te and atomic number 52. It is a brittle, mildly toxic, rare, silver-white metalloid. Tellurium is chemically related to selenium and sulfur. It is occasionally found in native form, as elemental crystals. Tellurium is far more common in the universe as a whole than it is on Earth. Its extreme rarity in the Earth's crust, comparable to that of platinum, is partly due to its high atomic number, but also due to its formation of a volatile hydride which caused the element to be lost to space as a gas during the hot nebular formation of the planet.

Excellent Sample for collection
Shipped fast and came intact with no chipping. It did come with tellurium dust, though this is explained by the brittle nature of the element. By opening it in water, it was easy to neutralize the risk of breathing in the powder. When cleaned, the block weighed the exact 500.0 grams as advertised. The item its self was a tall trapezoidal prism with a cast metal appearance after cleaned. Great price for 500g of tellurium.--If you do buy this item, take common sense precautions. Avoid breathing the dust or ingesting it--

Arrived in good condition as advertised
Nice whole Ingots near the advertised weight. 1-2 grams of the Tellurium have been scuffed off during warehouse storage or shipment and some of this powder leeks through perforations in the original bag. You don't want to get this stuff on your hands. I scrubbed the bar wearing gloves and repackaged it. The final appearance is near that of cast lead.

Lovely Tellurium is a Treat
Nice heavy cube of tellurium for my element collection. Mine came dust free, but why take a chance of smelling like a rotting garlic loaf for three months? I transferred the cube to a more secure container while wearing gloves.
