Madly in Love with ME: The Daring Adventure of Becoming Your Own Best Friend

I ordered a hard copy for myself so that I could easily mark pages
EVERYONE can use this empowering information on how to strengthen the most important relationship you will have...the one with yourself. This book was mentioned in some other book I was reading, so I went a downloaded it on my Kindle. I found the book to be so compelling, that after reading it, I ordered a hard copy for myself so that I could easily mark pages, add notes in the margins, and highlight areas that I were important to me.I have to admit, the book starts off a little hokey, with all the "love baths" and such, but once you get past all of that, there is some really good LIFE CHANGING information here. And not just a little either. It is a must read for any woman / teen. I wish the book wasn't so female biased, or I would have bought a copy for my sons (reason for only 4 stars).

Not for teenagers unless studied together with a parent.
The other reviews regarding this book as being for teens are ridiculous.... those reviewers are resisting the deep, meaningful, interactive knowledge and required skills to reclaim and restore You and your inner realm-ness. As an expert and an instructor in this field, this book IS VERY WELL DONE. No book is inclusive of all the knowledge, skills and experiences one needs to be and do their best, but it IS a conversation starter. It IS knowledge AND some required skills/experiences one needs to integrate new information. Knowing is NOT doing or being, so dig into each chapter, paragraphs of import to you, and all the activities so you can know the truth for you, as you, and do all you now know to do to do and be the best version of You... freed at last!

Goddess Kali
There are some good practises to do in the book. She takes the approach to loving yourself like you would in a relationship with another person eg, have your own date night get dressed up or go away by yourself (like a couples weekend away). Which I like the idea of. Also when you wake in the morning to hug yourself and feel the love within you see yourself filled with pink light - I think that's a good practise. She rambles a lot though and she's really hyped up, I found a lot of it hard to read. Throughout the book she says to go to her website and get the practises she recommends doing - which I find annoying, the whole point of a book is to have everything in the book to do. I felt like it was a manipulation to go onto her website.Loving yourself is not a new concept. Louise Hay has been writing about this for more than 20 years and in the 90's loving yourself was the in thing.

I Am Love
This book is life changing. It has helped me SO much on finding myself and really ALLOWING myself to love myself. This book made everything in my life so much clearer its almost like a blessing and a curse in a way. I say this because, after reading it and doing the exercises that are within the book I now understand what it really means to be your own best friend. The curse of this though was the fact that I now see how much others do not love themselves and how this choice tears their life and themselves apart. Anyways, that is beside the point lol the point is this book is amazing and I recommend it fully heartedly to others who are really looking for a path to truly truly loving yourself and finally understanding what that actually means. You won't be disappointed.

I liked it :)
Christine Arylo takes the approach of teaching you how to be your own best friend, including how to talk to yourself and shut down the inner mean girl. Just becoming aware of how negative most of my self-talk is was really eye opening. I'd never to talk to my bff, that way so why am I doing it to myself? The exercises are, well, they can be uncomfortable but that's the point: to get out your comfort zone of bashing yourself, putting yourself last, taking yourself for granted, ignoring your own wants, needs and desires. And they're also fun. And she's funny. It's like she's sitting right there chatting with you throughout, being your biggest cheerleader.

Essential reading!
What a great book and what an important topic...thank you Christine! While this book is written for women, and is something I hope my two girls who are just 6 and 4 now, read when they get a little older, the universal wisdom in it is for all of us, men like me included. Self love is one of the most important aspects of life, growth, and spiritual evolution...but is often not talked about or taught directly, either because people think it is self absorbed and/or we're already supposed to know how to do it...but sadly, we don't. Thanks to Christine Arylo's passion, courage, and clarity, we have a guide book for how to more deeply, fully, and authentically love all of who we are, and share that love with everyone around us.

Good core info, a little cheesy though
I really enjoyed this book, even though I didn't do any of the love baths or other cheesy activities. Overall, this book has a lot of great info. Here are some of my favorite passages:"Everything in your life begins with your relationship with yourself.""Every time she compares herself, she unknowingly rejects herself.""...looking to the outside for what has to be found on the inside first.""A self-empowered woman who doesn't look to any person or establishment to give her power, status, or recognition, but who instead draws power and permission to act from inside herself."Overall, I really liked it. It was a little corny and cheesy but it was fun. I would recommend it.

Draw hearts on your dollar bills ??????
This author says on pg. 315 to give “love money” go to the bank, get one dollar bills, draw hearts and love symbols and whatever you want on your one dollar bills and pay at the store with them, it make your cashiers happy if they are down ??? Tell your cashier it’s “love money” ??? (You really think a cashier is gonna be happy because you PAID for groceries with money that has drawings all over it) AND please don’t give a cashier your balance while telling them it’s “ this is love money” anybody would give you a strange look and be thankful When you are gone.

too great for strengthening your connection with yourself. cant believe so little review from amazon UK
Everyone should build up their self love foundation regardless of whichever situation they are in.Im not even halfway through the book but I am too excited to write a review..what i thought about self love is totally wrong and it isnt strong enough as a foundation.some insights of the book which wakes me up:1. You focus on growing self confidence, but you fail to tend your self compassion or self care2. You have tons of self-esteem but lack of self respect.3. You have self-awareness but lack a strong branch of self-trust.4. You go wild on growing self pleasure without self honesty or self honor.if these sounds like you, you should get this book right away!enjoyxx

Madly in Love with Me
This book does what its title refers to. Its a gentle guide to getting to know yourself better inside and out. Its not a book you have to read from start to finish but one you could choose to dip in and out of which is what I like. I agree with Christine that life is best when you become the best version of yourself and really really like yourself. Its not something one is taught to ever do but in doing so can make a big difference in your life. If you like yourself, others will too.

But too gimmicky
I really liked the premise of this book. I'm a big believer that we should all love ourselves as we do others, but this wasn't for me. Maybe I've already gone a bit too far down that path but I found this to be quite gimicky and a bit wishy-washy, particularly the dares and love baths etc.Great premise, just not for me.

Good
I've only read Part 1 so far, but so far so good. The author has busted some myths around self-love and has included useful exercises to use as you progress through the book.
