**Q: Why do some of them look moldy ?**
A: None of mine looked moldy.  I did have to send them back because I have a very large bird.  These are for smaller birds

**Q: Just want to make sure these do not contain added salt? Thank you.**
A: These are wonderful. i would contact company in Oregon regarding salt, i don't believe that they do. i have been using these for some time and they are the best.

**Q: Are these made in the united States?**
A: I don't use these anymore. Cuttlebone is always imported. Good ones are getting scarce.  Oregon used to have a great distributor they have been out for a long time. .

**Q: Do these still have the hard backing on them?**
A: Yes, there is a hard backing that is part of the cuttlebone. These cuttlebones are about 1/4 inch thick so they last a long time before the bird gets to the hard part.
