Broken already!
The fryer holder handle was a constant problem as it would come off its lever, and then it simply just broke and now we are NOT able to use it anymore. Other than that the fryer is compact and great looking and keeps temperature fine.I am hoping that Russell Hobbs will replace the holder for us

faulty basket difficult to use.
The fryer appears to be of good quality and the instructions are simple to use. The main issue with the unit is that you can not operate the basket correctly, now it might be that the basket is faulty but we can not lift the basket out of the oil safely. What disappoints me is that I have contacted Russell Hobbs through their website and they have not responded at all. Subsequently we are unable to use the fryer.

Manufacturers not to check handle on this product!!!!
I bought this item a month ago after not using deep fryer for years, read all instructions carefully, used it for first time, to fry fresh fish in breadcrumbs, done everything to instructions went to lift fish out of fryer and handle came off in my hand, had to turn machine off, get two pairs of tongs to lift basket out with red hot oil still bubbling, absolutely furious as the handle is a rise and fall handle, I made sure that before I used it it was clicked in position, now machine has cooled down the handle still won't click back into position, there seems to be something missing on handle, looked at instructions but this handle doesn't even come off for cleaning. I would not recommend anybody buy this machine, for the reasons I just described, lucky to have two pairs of tongs to lift basket out otherwise would have had to let food burn.

Safety
When I was using this product the spring on the basket broke .it had chips in it .it fell into the hot oil burning my hand . I was so shocked by this I have never had this happen to me I can't use it now due to the basket handle broken and to be quite honest am a little bit frightened by this happening again .I think you should be aware of this it could have been a lot worse I was very lucky

Dangerous
Very dangerous! First time use, I filled the basket cooked the chips went to lift the basket and the handle snapped, a piece of plastic hit me in the face and the chips fell back into the boiling oil, very poorly made and very dangerous avoid at all costs!
