Great Press for making same sized hamburger patties
First off, I received this item for an unbiased review.I used this to create several burgers with 80/20 Lean ground hamburger. I also used a sauce mix in one batch I made up to see how this would work with sticking or not. A sauce mix that was mesquite and caramelized onion that you stir into the ground round and it adds flavor to your burgers. Each time I used this there was no issue of the burger sticking in the press. It produced equal sized burgers of the same size, you just have to make sure you use the same amount of hamburger on each press side, you could do so with a kitchen scale if need be. Pressing was easy and removing. I did notice one thing on the grill though in comparison to hand packed patties and that is a few of these had a tendency to want to come apart. More so with the sauce mixed ground round. I didn't feel this pressed the patties as firmly as doing it by hand, but by hand you don't get a consistent size and thickness which makes grilling an uneven chore. This did not say whether it was dishwasher safe or not, I would assume not since it has a wood handle and says easy wash up after use. Overall this is a nice addition to the kitchen toolset, especially if you grill out burgers a lot or host an event and want to ensure each burger is the same size and fits your buns of choice. I also like the ridges it impresses into the burger for grilling. Says works with a lot of meat types, turkey, pork, chicken, etc.. I only tested with beef.
