Easy to read, practical advice in every important area
I bought this book for my daughter but since she was away this weekend, I read through it myself. I ended up writing three pages of bullets/notes! Some things I already knew and was going to suggest to her so it was nice to have validation but I learned a few new things myself. I would tell her to recommend this to all her friends in school but I think I'll wait until after she finds a job because the tips are so clearly spelled out that I think this book will be an advantage for her.I also appreciated the fact that she recommends the best way to use your parents as a resource. My favorite advice beyond the very important (lock down your social media sites now) and the very practical (add a signature line in your email) was Follow Every Rainbow. Now here's hoping with a graduation one semester early, four internships and this great book that she gets that very important first job on her way to enjoying her career as much as her father and I have enjoyed ours.

Alternate Title: How to Succeed in a Digital World
It would be difficult to find a book with more career tips than this volume. Lindsey Pollak (by the way, a great speaker at any event that addresses Millennials in the business world) nails it with hundreds (no exaggeration) of tips and pieces of advice that are practical for people of any age. Whether you're looking for your first professional job, searching for a new opportunity or just wanting to increase your professional visibility, Lindsey offers a wide variety of ways that you can achieve your objectives. This book is especially important for mid-career professionals who weren't raised in the technology era. There's so much to learn about marketing to Millennials, seeking employment from Millennials and interacting professionally with Millennials. Lindsey provides a roadmap that each reader can view and choose the appropriate path to success.

Excellent Career Advice and Job Search Tips in One Effective Package
This is the most actionable career book I've ever read. I was initially hesitant to read it, because it's in a list format and I find books/writing in a list format sacrifice quality and depth of ideas for sheer quantity. This book is definitely not in that category: it is an in-depth examination that balances big ideas with small actions. Each item is organized under a broader theme, and the organization of the advice is fantastic. If you're young, ambitious and unsure about what your next steps are, pick this book up ASAP!For a great complement to this book, check out "The Start-up of You": http://smile.amazon.com/The-Start-up-You-Yourself-Transform/dp/0307888908/ref=tmm_hrd_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1405453583&sr=8-1.

Now what I was looking for
I was looking more for advice on getting from a major with no clear career applications(ie. not doctor, lawyer or teacher) to a career that I would be able to live with and perhaps enjoy. This guide helps you more if you have a pretty clear idea what you want to do and are ready to make a full time job of finding your career, especially if you are not willing to settle for "paying the bills" or "get out of the parents' house". For those of you lucky enough to have not picked a major yet, just remember that picking a major needs to corrolate to getting a job, not just "learning stuff". For everyone else, if you have a dream, seems like this book will help you get there. If you don't yet have a dream, I would strongly suggest tackling that area first. This book mainly just suggests getting a career profile(which is more of other people telling you what you should do, instead of you finding out what you want to do). There's a lot of really helpful and very current information in here. You have to be ready to jump on it though.

Outstanding! An absolute must for college students
I picked this book up hoping it would prepare me for the job market, which I was already pretty confident about. It was incredibly eye opening, and enlightened me about dozens of things I was overlooking--like using Facebook as my "professional friend" and getting a linkedin account. It was a little stressful seeing how much I could do, but I've been working through the tips one at a time and its really built momentum in my professional brand even as an undergraduate. Now, I have something to do to build my career everyday.

Great book!
This book is a great complement to my book "The Secret To Getting A Job After College". While I cover the details about resumes and cover letters, this book does a very effective job addressing issues related to determining what you should think about doing after college and the author also has a valuable section on how to prepare your elevator speech. I recommend it for everyone who is in college or has graduated in the past few years and I now consider it required reading for many of my students.
