The instructions are quite clear, almost unnecessary, as the timer itself is clearly labled. Just remember to mark on both ends which wire is the "line" (the live or "hot" wire that supplies the power) and which wire is the "load" (the wire that runs to the outlet or directly to the gadget being used).
