These have a strong magnetic force. I'm not sure if they're "rare earth" magnets but they are quite strong. I was able to use one on my finger to perform a magic trick with a card, where I pass my hand about an inch over the card and it lifts into the palm of my hand. It wouldn't work unless the ring was very strong, since the card has only a small, dime-sized normal magnet on it. But the trick works! However, one of my kids has dropped a ring on tile, and it shattered! Also, I dropped one on concrete and it instantly shattered. So they are very fragile. In all fairness, they warn you about this in the description.

Actually my use case is to simplify keep magnetic stir bars in the test tubes when dumping/cleaning out contents. This ring is now one of my water testing supplies as wearing allows quick and fully overturned test tub actions without the need for fishing out or losing these little pill shaped buggers. I found the ring sizes practical/useful for standard male sized hands. Mine are slightly smaller than average and that found between two of the three sizes allow pointer, middle, ring finger options to fit perfectly snug but easy to remove. As to magnetic strength - these little jewels are highly attractive - Hey and they look pretty cool too! I also appreciate the included casings for storage. Altogether a well built and packaged product.

Seems magicians and such gravitate to these for classic magic tricks. I'm not one of you. I use these to trigger reed switches in random electrical things I make. There's nothing like the sense of wonder when you "trick" the younglings around you when you grab that minecraft torch you made them but for some reason whenever you grab it it lights up a different color! These rings do seem to be on the fragile side, but we haven't broken any yet. We've been rather gentle with them from the start. They seem to be made of the typical ceramic magnet material, merely formed into a ring and given a thick and shiny paint job. Quite rigid, but I'm sure would break in half if dropped onto a hard surface or rough housed with too much. If you've ever had a hematite ring, it's like that.

This is the best design of PK ring by far. The magnetic fields is oriented with the black gap between poles (I think), which makes it more reliable and predictable. If you figure out what size you need you can buy that from this or another vendor. I ended up just throwing 2 of the rings away. I bought additional rings in one size (20mm), which is just a little over a size 10. For men with large hands, you will have trouble finding one big enough.

These rings allowed some fun magic tricks. They were worth the purchase.

So i bought the set hoping to actually do some magic but these rings are super cheap. Yes you get 3, yes they are different sizes but only 1 will really fit you and most often than not you wont really have anyone to give the other 2 rings to (unless you want to wear them yourself and look weird, no offense if you do, just be warned all of them will start to stick together) They advertise that they are strong but that's only if the whole surface of the ring is contacting the item. If worn, the ring can barley hold the case of a Zippo Lighter, and if you don't know those things only weigh 2.3 ounces. It's a literal gimmick for a buy, if you're looking for a "strong magnet" that "allows you to create ultimate effects" You're better off buying 1 ring that fits your perfectly, has a good hold, for a little for cash to make it worth it. Other than that these things are just a toy for a kid.

I've ordered two sets of these , and all 6 rings work really well. They are magnetized through the ring, i.e. the north pole - south pole axis runs through where your finger goes. Getting 3 rings for this price is a great deal. I have very large hands, and the smallest one fits my pinky and the largest one fits my ring finger; none of them are large enough for my index or middle fingers, but if you have more normal-sized hands your results should be different. Five of the six rings match visually, but in one set the middle size one was slightly different (the silvery part was more matte and less shiny). Anyway, I've successfully used these for several different tricks including coin-in-bottle and a couple of my own devising. If you have multiple sets like I do, you can put two or more rings of the same size together to make a longer tube, and the magnetism will hold them together firmly so that it takes quite a bit of effort to separate them again. Such a pair is roughly twice as strong as a single ring. If one ring is reversed, they will repel each other strongly enough to levitate one ring an inch or two above the other. In summary, nice product, great price, and a ton of fun.
