Best solderless for Jazz and P Basses
I have ordered (7) of these for all my Fender basses. Easy installation. Sound great!

Totally worth it
I looked at a lot of harnesses. I can solder, but not that well. I installed the pickups on my Indonesian Squier Jazz Bass, no problem- but I didn't want to have to solder up a harness. NOTE: For my Indo Squier I had to drill out the control plate for the new pots to fit through- or maybe you can get a new plate.Build quality is very high. Surprisingly so. The install is not hard, but you should (re)read all the well-written instructions AND visit their site, which has more useful info. Be sure to have a large and stable work area. I have large hands and poor eyesight so it took me longer that it probably should have. About an hour. The tapers are nice, easy touch and very linear. I like a little more resistance, but that's a minor quibble. The input jack is very substantial and much beefier than the Squier original. The bass sounds exactly as it did before, but the interface is much improved. Which is an intangible benefit, in my view.I showed my bass expert brother a picture of it and he said "That's a good idea, I hope someone is getting rich." I totally agree.Proceed with confidence.

NOT A BETTER HARNESS ON THE MARKET!
I have bought dozens of these over the years. All working flawlessly. These have all the best components and they are bult like a tank. The solderless feature is killer. So much less chance for error. So much less of a mess! If you want a harness that is reliably sturdy and great sounding then this is the one!

Super simple and flexible
I've been modding bass guitars for a number of years and I've always had difficulty with wiring, even though I'm proficient with a soldering iron. Soldering grounds to the back of pots has always been troublesome for me.I ordered this product for a parts-build Jazz Bass I've had for a while. I wasn't happy with the wiring - even though I did it myself, so I was looking for a simple fix, when I saw this. With everything prewired, all you do is strip the wires and tin the ends (very important to do), and insert them in the quick connect block on the device. There's a nice ground lug attached so you don't need to worry about connecting the ground wire from the bridge to one of the pots. 10 minutes and it was installed. I had one pickup that was out of phase - no problem, just release the wires and reconnect. Took 15 seconds to fix. Troubleshooting was easy, the included instructions were clear, and everything is included.Once installed, the sound is nice and fat, and the tone control really helps to color the sound without adding mud to the bottom end.I will be using more Obsidian Wire products in the future. It just makes sense.

Harness is great. The shipper sucks
Wiring harness is great. Stock Squier pick up wires are way to short fron neck pu. Had to send first one back because they shipped wrong harness. So I was without and instrument for a month.

Excellent
Installed this in my Squier Classic Vibe 70s bass and Im very happy with the results. Easy install (had to extend the neck pickup wires to reach the quick connect). As others have mentioned, be sure to either drill out the control plate holes or buy the Fender part, and the original Squier knobs will not fit so you'll need to get the Fender knobs.Sound quality is excellent

An awesome quality product.
I installed the Obsidian harness in under 10 minutes, including stripping the ends of the pickup wires! The sockets hold the wires firmly and allow for easy future pickup upgrades, not that I'll be doing that anytime soon. Upon plugging in my bass with the Obsidian upgrade I noticed an immediate improvement in the tone and quality of the signal overall. A nice warm bottom end and glassy highs with no noise. The pots are smooth and the workmanship is pristine. A big shout out to my Kiwi whanau at Obsidian, you've smashed it guys!

Worked great, instructions could be improved
Works flawlessly and is easy to install - once you get the wiring right. The included instructions have illustrations rather than pictures of the connectors on the harness, and they aren't particularly detailed so it's difficult to tell which orientation they're in. Took a couple of tries, and with the connectors being so small was a little tedious to move the wires around. After finally getting it wired correctly though it worked like a charm and was still easier and less time-consuming than soldering. Very happy with the upgrade.

Perfect!
I upgraded all of the electrics in my Jazz Bass and these complimented them perfectly . So easy to install it took around 15 minutes . I’d recommend these to anyone, I also installed ObsidianWire pots in my P Bass and will also install them in my PJ Basses when ObsidianWire make them .

Get this now - amazing product!
This was the second time I purchased one of these to upgrade my pickups. The first time was for a Squier P-Bass that I dropped 62 customs into and this time the Geddy Lee hand wound pickups from Solo Guitar (TB-GEDJB-SET) to upgrade my Squier Vintage Modified 70s Jazz Bass. Both times this made the process a snap. Read the instructions carefully and watch the YouTube videos out there but easy as pie. Only advice is make sure you’re oriented properly to the bridge and neck, and make sure to leave plenty of length on the wires you cut, especially the ground wire for the neck. Also, you may need to order a new plate (I did to be safe) and definitely new knobs as these have a thicker diameter than the standard Squier = quality all around. A+

Obsidian Wire's products are GREAT
As a fellow purchaser said here - I used to do a lot of Bass and Partscaster builds - but my soldering skills are limited - and mine seem to be getting worse after 60. I even found poking the leads from the pickups into the little switches a challenge. But wow, so much easier. This is a fabulous product - I wish I had known about these when I was building guitars and Basses more regularly

Super easy install
My '74 Fender Jazz started to have some serious ground buzz issues. I've had to resolder the ground wires a few times in the past and although I'm fairly proficient at soldering, I've always struggled a bit with attaching the ground wires to the pots. Only by chance did I come across these Obsidian wire harnesses and I immediately thought that they were a brilliant idea. They looked clean with no wires sticking out all over the place and I figured that I'd never have to deal with re-soldering bad ground wiring ever again.Although a bit pricy compared to buying individual components and wiring them together yourself, I ended up with a much cleaner installation in the cavity and it took way less time and frustration to do it.I tinned the pickup leads before attaching then to the solder-less connector board and would highly recommend anyone considering buying one of these harnesses to do the same.Overall, I very happy with my purchase. Next step is copper shielding in all the cavities !!
