Sappy review ahead!
This was my dad's favorite comfort food as a young person. When he was in his late fifties he got cancer and all he wanted was Habitant soup. Unfortunately, living on the West Coast you can't find it in stores. When we realized we could order it off Amazon he was thrilled. He died five years ago, and so to remember him I take a can of Habitant with me to Burning Man every year. We eat it with a grilled cheese on the night of the temple burn in his honor. This year I was able to pass the tradition onto another friend and my husband's oldest son, who also camped with us. I may be biased, because it reminds me of my dad, but this soup is delicious. I would also recommend making it from scratch if you're into cooking, as it is just amazing to enjoy in the Winter, fresh off the stove.

I love the soup but have to give it up.
For years my brothers and I have made this soup a staple of our fall reunion. In the last couple years it has been really hard to find in local stores. I bought these in desperation. The quality was good and the taste just like it used to be. BUT the cost?!!!! We ended up having a pea soup "bake off" to find something else we could buy. Goodbye Habitat after decades we simply can't countenance this type of price.

Wonderful!
Our family hails from RI, and this was a favorite of my mom's, who now lives out of state. It's hard to find in any stores, so i ordered this to be sent to her. It arrived in 2 days, right to her doorstep, and it is exactly what she remembers & loves. Much better than the green split pea soup that's widely available instead!!

Great expensive soup
Great soup, especially for a cold, rainy day! My husband loves it. We can't get it in the grocery stores here. Way too expensive though.

Not as good as I remembered
I remembered this soup fondly from my youth, and was disappointed to discover how relatively bland it tasted. I don't know if they've changed the recipe or if it was just better in my memory!

Very Good
To be fair, I am already a fan of pea soup, so this will not be a completely unbiased review. I found the soup a bit thinner than others I have tried from a can, but the taste is nonetheless very good. Also, if anyone is wondering, this is not a condensed soup (no need to add water) - simply heat the contents and your meal is ready. Of all of the canned pea soups I have tried, this is my favorite so far.

Real French Canadian. Delicious
I ate many cans of this when I was a kid. Loved it. Couldn't find it anywhere else. Just as I remember it.
