But it does not go down stairs as it is too short.... It also got tangled constantly. I finally found an old long slinky on eBay that went down stairs like my daughter wanted. We have a black light, it seems to glow best that way if my memory serves. My daughter loved it. It drove me crazy. Lol. I think I spent a hour on Xmas untangling the thing. But she was only 4 and the issues were due to her not using it correctly. We also have very tall, odd wood stairs. You have to put it under light for a few minutes for it to glow and it definitely does glow! When you open the package, you have to take the one end and gently pull it apart. Definitely will order another one if I ever need one.
