SUNRISE Natural Stone Bowl 36oz

I love this meal and wanted to start making it at home. These bowls are perfect for Dolsot Bimbimbop or ramen. The size is right as well. Most I saw were 32oz. That’s to big. This holds a half cup of cooked rice and toppings perfectly. Stays hot as a reactor for the entire meal and makes that crispy rice crust that we all love. Thanks! These will get a lot of use. I bought two. Probably buy two more so I can make it for guests. One note- the bowl seasoning directions were confusing. The way I understood it you are to boil the bowl in water for thirty minutes that has salt and flour added to it. Seems strange, but I did it. But it is a bad translation if you ask me. Also, I heat them up by setting them on a gas burner on med-low for about 30 min. Very hot.

Heavy stone bowls perfect for Dolsot Bipim Bap. Great size and heat up well. Easy clean up. Wood tray is a nice touch.

We already had two bowls with a plate under it. The ones we have are definitely more quality for the price we paid, however, prices have gone up. We bought this one for our granddaughter since Bim Bim Bop is her favorite. She was so pleased with it. It is a little smaller than the ones we have, but it definitely serves up a nice helping. The serving plate is just like it looks. Wood. The bowl works really well for heating and keeping the rice hot and doing the job of crisping it a bit. From what I researched online and in our community, this is the best deal we found. So that is why we gave it five stars. If you want totally authentic, then you will need to spend a lot more money.

I have purchased 12 of these stone bowls. They are absolutely wonderful. With use, they turn a brown color with red & orange hues. Wonderful. They keep the food hot through the entire meal!! Can't say enough about them. However, packaging is poor. On my last batch order of 6 bowls, only three arrived without damage. There was no exterior box damage at all, but I knew there was an issue when I picked the box up, for I heard rattling. For stoneware, that's a key indicator. I even took an iPhone video of the unpacking just to prove to any doubter :-) I recommend that you spend a little extra money on bubble wrap and improve your shipping packaging. It's a real downer when the item arrives broken to pieces and I have to deal with a return. Superb product though if it arrives intact. I will use them for years to come.

Pretty happy with the bowl. Naturally it is good for bibimbap, but also nice for soup. I heat it directly on a gas stove. Metal ring discolors over time (not a big deal). Bowl also discolors over time. Placing bowl in the oven on the clean cycle will restore it to looking brand new but requires re-seasoning it.

My daughter and I are Bibimbap fans, and we wanted to make it. After a few tries I think we learned some tricks that could make you an expert right off the bat. Be sure you follow the pretreatment directions. You don’t have to wait 24 hours, but if you boil then wash then oil, and need to use the bowl right away, brush extra sesame oil before adding the rice, meat, vegetables. It’s useful to have a spiral julienne device to do justice to the veggies. Here are our take-always: 1- always brush sesame oil (dark is best) before you add the cooked rice. Push the rice into a semicircle to line the bowl 2- add everything else. Egg on top. Fry the egg as you hear the bowl up - some recipes said to put the raw egg and cook it on the rice. This doesn’t work. It never gets hot enough up there and the rice starts burning 3- put the bowl on a gas burner at medium high for at least 5 minutes. You’ll hear the rice cracklings. Once that’s been going on for a minute, put heat at medium low for another 2-3 minutes. 4- use a thermal mitt or a special grabber pliers thingy to take it off. Mix everything together, add sauce, and eat!

I bought 4 of these bowls. One came all shattered into pieces. One you can't see the crack but once on the stove it started to leak everywhere. Such poor craftsmanship. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

If you are keen to give a bowl the equivalent of a high-end spa TLC and massage, this bowl is for you. But it still won't last anyway.
