and the size was perfect for my 18" laptop. The construction is sturdy and it's versatile; definitely held up to the "around the house abuse. I wish the padding had a little more filling beads, but I guess I could get creative & add some more myself. This lap desk is certainly worth the money and I'd purchase another when & if the need ever arises

Flimsy, hardly any padding, very disappointed. I've ordered products from Amazon for year and use them all the time and I think this is only the second bad review I've ever had to give. The product was advertised as being of much better quality than it actually is. The top is only about 1/4 inch thick and easily bends. The cushion is so badly stuffed the heat from the computer seeps through it within minutes and the cushion is much smaller than the top. Really hate to have to send a crappy review, but this product was a big disappointment. Will probably never order from the seller again, as I feel I was duped by the product description. Pain the same for it as I've paid for much better lap desks in the past. It did arrive on time in good packaging, but this product is practically useless. Won't recommend this one to anybody I know.

It is lightweight and just nice to sit in your easy chair and write or study. Cleans up easily and the carrier is very nice.

This calls itself a laptop desk but it is far more than that, and very practical in our family!The bottom is filled with lightweight beads and it sits flat on your lap. It is a very light top, it seems to be made of a thick, sturdy, pressed cardboard type substance covered with a leather looking finish which is lightly textured, not smooth. And it has a handy handle on the outside edge.Because it is so lightweight, it is super practical, because it is large enough for a full size laptop and mouse, but light enough for a young child doing homework. It makes a great lap snack tray, and would be ideal for serving Mom breakfast in bed on Mother's Day. (Hint, hint).Because it is curved, it sits easily on your lap.In our home, with a six year old, it serves an unusual dual purpose. I set mine on the couch while I was busy and found my granddaughter using the bottom instead of the top as a bed for a small doll. :-). She is very tactile and also enjoys playing with the beads.This is very similar to the lap boards you see around the time school starts for kids and teens, but larger. In fact, while it would be very useful for business travelers. It seems to look and feel a lot more like a teen product because of the lightweight nature of the materials.I am grateful to have received a complimentary sample to test for a review, since I am now using this for my laptop when I can get it away from my little granddaughter and her dolls, that is.

I love this lap desk. Notice that I'm calling it a "lap" desk and not a "laptop" desk, because it has so many more uses than just a laptop computer.But for starters, let's talk about the use for a laptop computer. The surface area is perfect for most sized computers. I'm typing right now on a 15" PC, but there's plenty of room left where I could use my 18" PC instead. With this smaller PC though, there is still plenty of room to the side if I needed to use a mouse too.This lap desk is also practical for paperwork or reading.I like the looks of this portable desk. I'm using the one with the brown imitation alligator skin. It's soft and smooth enough that it doesn't make a lumpy surface, but it's textured enough to make a nice non-slip space.The surface has rounded corners that won't poke you and it has a nice concave sculpted front in case your own, ahem, lap sticks out. Let's just say that it conforms nicely to my 12-pack abs. ;)The bottom is a styrofoam beanbag. I like it because it's not too large or too full. It's about 6" narrower than the desk surface, which makes sense since it doesn't need to be that large. There's also an attractive carrying handle at the top.All in all, I've used a number of these lap desks before and this one is one of my favorites. It's one of the nicest looking and least expensive lap desks I've used. That's a great combination.I was provided this item for review.

This is my fourth lap desk. It looks a lot like two of my lap desks, but the material is much nicer. It feels like leather. My husband asked if it was real leather. I had to go check and see if it was real leather. Alas, it's faux leather, but it's beautiful.The top surface is textured. My children use lap desks for doing homework while on the go. I was concerned the texture would be a problem, but the texture isn't rough enough to interfere with writing in pencil or ink. With my other desks, they have to place a folder or some other surface between the desk top and their paper to prevent problems with indentations on their work.When I go on road trips, I use the lap desk to hold a laptop or netbook. It's much more comfortable than placing the netbook on my lap. The beanbag on the underside of the desk raises the computer up higher, and the desk keeps my lap from heating up. My husband's 17 in laptop fits on it with some room to spare.Very nice. I will replacing my old lap desk with this one.This product was provided for review by Dakota Trading.
