I bought this to replace a two week old Linksys WUSB6100M (AC600) adapter that typically would not hold a 5Ghz connection more than one hour at best...usually only 5-15 minutes. After 2 weeks of trying different suggested configurations, I gave up and looked for something else. After reading several reviews about several different adapters, I decided to give this one a try. It arrived this morning and so far I am impressed with its performance. It has held a solid 4 bar signal on 5Ghz for the last six hours from the floor above and at the other end of the house from the router, something the AC600 NEVER did. I should also say that this adapter was less than half the price of the Linksys AC600.I only gave it 4 stars because of the documentation that came with it. The Quick Start Guide that came with it instructs you to plug the adapter in and then install the drivers, which I did. My laptop immediately crashed. After the hassle of uninstalling and reinstalling it, everything has been flawless. IGNORE THE QUICK START GUIDE. YOU MUST INSTALL THE DRIVERS BEFORE PLUGGING IN THE ADAPTER, RESTART THE COMPUTER AND THEN PLUG IN THE ADAPTER. After that everything worked as expected. I would recommend this adapter to others.

A very good product for its price so far. I've already had a 5g 3.0 USB adapter but you must install a driver to use and its about 3 times the size of this adapter. I almost bent or broke it multiple time when handling my PC due to its gigantic size. So, this mini adapter is much needed for my workstation.The last thing to do is to check the speed difference between the two adapter. From what I can tell, I could see no different in performance from multiple speed test. I'll have my old Wifi adapter as back up.Gotta update the product. After 2 weeks of using it, the adapter tend to get hot and stopped to function. That's really unfortunate.

I bought this thing for my laptop because the on-board network adapter keeps dropping the signal. It was sketchy at first with the installations and permissions, but I haven't had any issues. Since I got it, the only reason my WiFi drops now is because of the router. Also, it's tiny and doesn't make a big difference on usage of my laptop by protruding from the side.

Very simple no hassle set up right out of the box. This device is used for our sons second floor bedroom computer with our dual ban comcast router which is downstairs. Son was having signal strength problems and taking a very long time to log onto games prior to this device and since getting it very fast connections and smooth sailing. Highly recommended.

Ok, so the installation Cd it came with did not work and i was almost ready to send this thing back when the seller emailed for a feedback request and included instruction and solutions if installation had not been successful. I followed the instructions and downloaded the updated driver from the link in that email and voila! it works now! so i'm happy but i'm giving 4 stars because this was not a straight forward job and took a few days to resolve.

I purchased this because it says it will work as a software based Wireless Access Point. I have tried to set it up using the included software and retried using the latest version on the vendor website. What I want to do is use this as a wireless access point to share my pcs wired internet connection with my other devices when traveling.It appears that the software WAP 'tries' to initiate Windows Network Connection Sharing but does not work. I was hoping for something more secure than that anyway. I was very disappointed in the product.
