Great value on 2pair / four racks. Alignment of screw holes was just a little off and made final assembly on two holes of each rack a little rough. Needed a smaller 5mm open end to turn the bolt and let the threads pull the bolt through the tubes. Fits nicely on FLAT style car racks. Includes strapping. Tubing is heavy gauge will not bend. Nice Locknuts included which reduces problems with nuts vibrating off on linger trips.I almost figured out how to use as a wall rack as well as roof rack.

Tough steel is right. The padding on the other hand rips extremely easily and cheep bolts with messed up threads right out of the box. Once you get them assembled and force the messed up bolts on everything after that is a breeze. Fits on my 07 Forester 3inch wide roof racks rails good enough. Extremely solid, more solid then my factory roof rack. For easy installation use 1/2 inch ratchet box end wrench. Makes install extremely fast.

For what I needed them for, they work great. I have a Hobie Tandem Island, I put both Ama's in one rack set. The only complaint I would have were the straps. They may have been fine, but they looked flimsy to me. I has a better strap and used it instead. But it was easy to install and they seem to be very sturdy. It was delivered on time. I ended up only needing one set, so now I have a spare. Well worth the price.

If I could give this 0 stars I would. I had high hopes for this item based on other reviews. However when assembling this item it was evident that holes were drilled in wrong places, we had to use our own tools to put these pieces together and it took several hours. Additionally, I have fairly wide roof rails and these are not well suited for anything other than a very narrow roof rail. We were able to get them installed, however the straps would not tighten sufficiently and the bottom brace is not adequate to stabilize the kayak. While driving, the strap loosened and the kayak flipped off the side of the rack onto my car causing several hundred dollars worth of damage, it dented up the side of my new SUV. I'm horrified that I now need to have body work on my new car and had to return these as they were completely unusable.

ARE. YOU. KIDDING. ME!!!I bought this product so that I could take two kayaks on a road trip, TOMORROW. However, when I go to look for the second set of nuts and bolts...they are nowhere to be found. So now I have to go to my local hardware store and HOPE I can find what I need.I know I purchased this “used” but the only disclaimer it gave was that it would not come in the original box... ridiculous.

Got 2 sets for 2 kayaks. Easy to install. Works very well. Only downside is having to lift kayak fairly high to put on rack. This would not be much of a problem if my car roof was lower (it is a fairly high SUV).

Exactly what was described. I have only had the chance to use them once but the kayaks stayed in place. I did use my own tools instead of the one provided.

The bolts that hold the J hooks onto the cross bars don't stay tight, so the J Hooks tend to get loose and wobbly, which isn't a characteristic you want for something to be responsible for securing stuff to your roof.
