Instruction to use the timer properly: 1) Wind the timer clockwise all the way to the 60 minute stop. This fully winds the ringer. 2) Then twist anti-clockwise to the required time setting. If you do not fully wind the timer you will get a very short ring. Simply turn the dial to activate - no batteries required. Keep track of time in the kitchen and more with this mechanical timer. Featuring a durable plastic timer with a dial to turn to set time and a bell inside that rings when the timer goes off. Measures 2.75" x 1.5". One hour timing capacity

Loud ticking
When you set the timer it ticks loudly, making it hard to concentrate and forget yourself in the task you're trying to do. My son threw it across the room because it was too loud and distracting. If it wasn't for the constant ticking noise, it would be fine.

Dead 2nd day of use
I bought one of these 20 years ago just like this one & it still works great. Needed a second one, but this ain't it. Stopped working 2nd day I had it & returned for refund. They just don't make things like they used to.
