Didn't actually get that crazy, but this mat was still very helpful, keeps those small screws from rolling around, and being able to write on it to track what section or step they belong to is nice. Mat is pretty thick and lays flat, seems like it will work for a long time as long as it's treated OK, as in don't scratch the top of it, as that might damage the erasable surface/risk further damage. Marker it comes with is wet erase, I assume so you don't accidentally wipe the words off, but I think the surface would work OK with dry erase as well.
